Ava vanta i salquessë! D:<
It just makes me sad.
Uhoh, here i go again about the good old days.
Just recently I was browsing the GCD and came across a very true topic that made me stop to think. The poster talked about Gaia, how it once was when I first joined on my old main account (2003, Kida Endbringer). How much Gaia has changed between then and now. And more importantly, the people of Gaia. Gaia's users (and fans).

So the topic got me thinking. The changes between the smaller Gaia.. the go-gaia anime community and this larger, more cultish fandom version with thousands of people, who's personalities vary with almost each and every person, are very great and, in all honesty, all changes to Gaia and to the site itself have been for the better. The level of intellegence of the populous of Gaia, however, disturbes me greatly. I remember days quiet days on Gaia.

A good group of friends, some fun time role playing in barton town as our Gaia characters (none of the "U CAN NOT YEWS UR GIAI AVITAR AS UR RP CARACTRE" s**t in rps you see today), and the day to day challange of getting a few gold more twards one or two items we kept our eye on. Now the old role players, like myself and some old friends, are next to extinct on Gaia. Why? Becuase Gaia isn't the anime and role playing community (for making friends and having fun)that it once was.

It's now about items and gold. "Who's the richest b*****d out of the thousands of players, who has the best items, who can make friends cause they have the best items, who's an older member cause they have the best items.." It makes me sick. It's all about items and gold now. The vanities of Gaia. The Gaia I knew wasn't about the items. You didn't make friends with someone because they had 'the best' items. You made friends because you liked the other person's personality.

That's another thing, personality of people on Gaia now. Where their priorities lie. The people that that con (in the posters thread) sure seemed to like Gaia huh? They'd scream, rather than clap, about a site that has little to no effect on their life in the real world. Yes Gaia is fun, yes we can and should give it support. There is no shame in enjoying chatting online and having online friends. But really, acting like, as the poster put it "a group of 6-10 year olds at a live performance of Lazy Town. Not out of a group of 13-18-25 year olds at a website panel." is really uncalled for. It shows how much people adore Gaia. To the point where is was shouting at the computer (at a youtube video none the less) "shut the hell up and let the man talk!".
There's no reason to act so childish and shout/scream in glee about it.

It's a website that, sure is fun, but won't be there all the time for you. You can't put "Gaia User" on a resume and turn just that in and expect an instant win with the boss. The friendly community. The Gaia I joined, that I loved to be on, is no more. Not even a banner of the old Gaia remains.

'Kay I'm done.
Sorry for the Gaia population rant. :[
I just had to get it out of my mind, into my mouth, and back out again. :O
