Today I heard a story about someone getting shot because someone else was trying to steal his PS3. I've also heard many stories about people trying to break into stores to steal the PS3s. This makes me utterly disgusted. This just proves that PlayStation is going to the dogs. It's trying to appeal to the regular teenager and not the regular gamer. Let's take the PSP for example: not only could you play games on it, but you could watch movies and listen to music on it too. My response to that is: A GAME SYSTEM IS FOR GAMES. If you want to listen to your bloody music or watch videos, GET A FREAKIN IPOD! Anyway, back to what I was saying, PlayStation has forgotten what game systems were meant for and, thus, the regular teenage/street-trash have come to want them so that they can use it as an IPod instead of what it was meant for. That's why all this robbery happened with the PS3. Also, just as a side note, the prices of the PlayStation systems have gone up ever since they added the extra crap and now they are just outrageously expensive! Why would I pay 300 bucks for a freaking PS3 when I could pay 200 for a DS AND an IPod?

On the other hand, the Wii came out recently too (Congrats to all you people who actually have one, I have to wait till Christmas crying ) and I've heard of no robbery or shots fired when the stores opened and people rushed into get their new Wii. That is because Nintendo has still made it its biggest priority to appeal to the GAMER and not the TEENAGER. And gamers have respect man! I know it sounds corny, but its true! A true gamer would never steal someone else's system. That's just...wrong, man. It goes against the unspoken code, right up there with buying a guide book for your first play through of a game. I know this because I am a devoted gamer and so are many people that I know and we would NEVER do something so evil as steal someone's game system that they payed hard earned money for. Those things cost big bucks man!

So, for all you people that say gaming is "bad" for you and only violent kids play video games, just remember that we're not all alike. True gamers have respect, but I can't say the same for the average teenager.

(note: no offense to those who have or have play PS systems; I too have a PS2 on which I have spent many a long night playing many a game. This does not apply to all people who play the systems, I'm just saying that, recently, a lot more street-trash are starting to play it.)
