Entry #6
I just thought of something. My English teacher had said during class about how while they watch their seniors go up the aisle to graduate, after they watch them leave one by one, they have to turn to their new set of students and say, "We've got work to do"

It's amazing to think that teachers watch their students grow and mature into the world of knowledge and yet they themselves cannot move on. And that they have the thoughts that their own students whom they themselves taught, might one day surpass them.

It's a bit saddening really. And today, I reached an understanding with her. It felt quite nice to engage in such a conversation. Especially on a Monday. She called it a lecture but I just call it a talk. She didn't lecture us on the persuasive elements of John Smith's work and she didn't lecture us on Edwards's "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God".

She just talked with us. The simplicity of that statement is quite beautiful, in that, she talked to us like an equal and not as a teacher. Much more like a friend than an authoritative figure.

And that's nice.
