What shall we do, in a night so dark?
Shall we light a candle?
Or just lie here and ******** in the dark."

So this darkness, begins to shadow,
There is only one, Lit candle.......

The candle's light flickers and burns,
seemingly dancing against the eternal shade.
But its burning keeps it at bay,
but for how long before it goes astray?

As this candle lights its life away.
All we can do is sit here,
hoping that the flame will keep life's shadows at bay.

But as all things turn out to be,
the life of a candle shouldn't be.
For the night soon takes its life,
as it always in time, takes ours.

As the darkness takes the flame's life,
leaving us to sit here in the dark.
I wonder if that'll be me one day,
Or perhaps, just an illusion.

Thus as the flame is extinguished,
leaving us at the whims of the dark.
The voices that call out to us from it,
hint at something more dark.

I hear the voices, they're all around me.
They're trying to tell me,
that something's going to happen to me.
But what is it that is so dark?

For isn't the dark, but a frame of mind?
So the voices that lie within it,
Belong to mine?
So wouldn't that mean,
that I am hinting toward something to come?

For as I lay,
on this cold-dark floor.
I feel you next to me,
In the same cold darkness.

But in this darkness,
and the voices within.
I find shelter and comfort,
that could not come from within.

For I still see you there,
framed in the after burn from the dead candle.
Still sitting here with me,
with the voices from our dying candle.
