This is the first in what i hope to be many journal entries
This story has yet to be named but i would love to here your opinions and title ideas

I opened my eyes and looked around. Its was the day, the ceremony was today, The Ceremony of the New Year, when all of those who had turned 14 the previous year would get their spirit animals. I was so exited, at last years ceremony my cousin, James, got a fox and he was shocked but they have become inseparable.
Spirit animals are our guardians, our trainers, and our friends. They are with us always and never leave our side accept for the use of the bathroom. They are also our armor, a spirit animal and its human may join together to form one being but it will only last for one hour and it drains your strength and leaves you week for a day. And in four hours, when the giant clock struck twelve I and all the other fourteens would get our spirit animals. In addition to spirit animals, we get our elements. each spirit animal has two elements, my cousins fox has the power of fire and earth and his girlfriend, Danielle, has a cheetah which has fire and wind. As i laid in my bed to tired to get up but exited enough to stay awake, I couldn't believe that today I was getting to meet my spirit animal. All humans were required to live with there animals all at all times. My dads spirit animal is a hawk named Orochi that has the power of wind and fire. I am hoping for a mammal because they are furry and for some reason I like the furry animals.
I just couldn't make myself get out of bed i just sat there staring at the ceiling thinking of what could happen. I hear a knock on the door of my room. I opened the door and it was my cousin James with his fox around his neck.
"Kyle get up, you going to be late, and if your late you know they wont give you your spirit animal", said James.
"Thanks cous sorry I guess i was just a little tired", I said.
"No problem Kyle, plus if you don't get your animal then I cant win my bet", James explained," I am betting you get something big and tough so i put money on a reptile, more specifically an alligator."
"Wait hold on, your betting on what I am gonna get", I asked.
"Yeah, most people agree with me, plus if you get an alligator and you fuse with it you will be able to scare any one."
"Wow thanks James that makes me feel so much better."
"Don't mention it, anyway we got bets on all the 14's"
His fox stared me in the eye and soon I heard its voice in my head," Do not worry Kyle all will be fine, besides alligators are far more sensitive than most people say."
"Yeah thanks Roku, well so long as my animal isn't a p***k."
