The check up wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was a simple procedure with a free massage at the end. That massage was to perfect to be true. I felt as though they were destorying my worries. In fact at the end, I was to lazy or too relax to move. The doctor laughed and said, 'It's never good to keep a high class man like, Kazekage waiting, Sorrow-san.' Regretfully I got up onto my feet and exited the check up room.
The nurse had guided me to the waiting room, where Kankuro sat with roses at hand. I stared at the young ninja, wondering why he seemed so different that day. My first guess was his fac epainting. It was in a differnt shade of purple then yesturday. It seemed to have a slight red tint to it. On top of that, it was smeared in a different pattern. Probaly a new style he was testing out.
I walked over to him in the outfit Temari had so generously given me. "Hi Kan-chan~." I said happily. "You weren't waiting long were you?"
Kankuro quickly hopped to his feet. Almost as though I had shocked him out of a dream. "N-no. I wasn't waiting long... Zeta-chan.. Oh these are for you." He stuttered and tripped over his own words, as he held the roses out to me. I noticed two were died, but I kept my mouth shut and smiled at him. "Thank you, Kankuro."
Now I knew what it was that made him seem different to me today. He was blushing and actting as innocent as a little school boy confessing his love to his crush. I couldn't help but giggle.
Kankuro and me walked side by side to Gaara-sama's office. I wasn't so keen on the thought of seeing the red haired Kazekage, but a deal was a deal, and there no turning back for me. As Julius Casear once said, "The die (pular for dice.) has been cast." The silence between me and the sand ninja was really driving me insane. The air around us seem to sufficate me. I didn't know what to say to him or anything.
"So, Zeta-chan, you never answered why you were in the desert." Kankuro say. I felt even more tense because of that question. I sighed.
"IF you must know. I'm on a quest. You see my sensei vanished, and I'm sort of looking for him." I half lied to him. I felt a knife of guilt stab me in my heart. But it was all I could do. If I had told him the turth, who knows what could happen. I for one didn't want to find out.
"Who was you sensei? From what village?" Kankuro asked. I was suddenly regretting ever wishing for a conversation.
"Valen. Rain Village... Look can we not talk about it..." I asked in a pleading voice. From the corner of my eye, I saw Kankuro pout. Dang it, I really didn't mean to upset the poor guy.
From that point, we didn't talk. When we reached Gaara's office, he say a good bye. Before he was out the door he stopped and looked at me. "Zeta-chan... I'm sorry if my questions were too-"
I giggled and looked at him. "kan-san... you were only showing an interest in me. I see no crime that needs in apology. I should be thanking you for worrying." Kankuro just stared at me speachless. I guess he didn't know how grown up I could be. With a slight nod of his head he was out the door.
I stared at the doors before me. If I pass through them I will be alone with the Kazekage. If I don't I'll be breaking a promise and will be doing myself some harm. After all, I want to learn that trick he can do...
