So, last night I realized for the first time that I have a semi-public place to rant here for the first time. So I decided that's what I'm gonna do tonight, since today was pretty much just yer basic boring day. Also, since I got something I've been wanting to rant about for a while now.

I REALLY hate it when someone says that a person is being unpatriotic by criticizing the president or the war. I kinda feel that my opinion should hold a little water here, since I am a soldier myself. Speaking as a soldier, if there is one reason I would lay down my life in defense of this country for, it's the very freedom that these people are criticizing. In fact, one of the tattoo's I want to get is going to be on my right forearm. It's going to be the word "Liberatas", which is Latin for liberty. The symbolism of course being that it's on my right arm, my sword arm. Basically to say that this is what I fight for.

When I see someone on the news criticizing the president or the war, I don't get demoralized. What would lower my morale is if no one cared enough to criticize. When I see these people on TV, I see people trying to make sure that my time as a soldier is spent effectively defending the freedom of the American people. I see them trying to make sure that I am not unnecessarily put in harms way. I see them trying to make sure that we have a plan for this war, and that we're not blinding sitting there until all hell breaks loose and finally HAVE to get out. This is what I see when I see people criticizing the president and/or the war. I see people trying to have a discussion on how my time and energy are best spent as a defender of the American people. Using the freedom that I am here to protect, they are able to speak freely and voice various opinions so that the best one may be chosen.

Anyways, that's how I see it. Part of my job is to protect the freedom of the American people. Telling someone not to use that freedom offends me greatly. It's getting late and I'm kinda starting to ramble though. So I'll bring this entry to a close for now. Have a great night all =).
