Have any of you guys seen that new "Don't Smoke" commerical where it's got the cowboy-dude singing after he had to get a lung removed cuz he smoke too much? He sounds like a robot because he's got this tube in his neck to help him breath and he sounds SOOOO creepy. Though, I love the lyrics of the song: "You don't always die from tobacco. Sometimes you just lose a lung. And you won't sing worth a heck with a big a hole in your neck. No you don't always die from tobacco."

So on the subject on smoking commercials, you remember when you were lil and they had all those REALLY creepy ones? I remember one scared the hell out of me when I was a kid: there was this puppet/dude person and this guy was controlling him (with a shirt that said "Peer Pressure" wink . Well, the dude in the shirt made the puppet/dude put a cigarette in his mouth and then the puppet/dude went limp and just hung there on his strings. Then the screen went black. When I was a kid, I had nightmares about it.

They should have creepy commericals like that now! That would keep the kids from smoking. It sure as hell made me not want to smoke. Now a days, they have those stupid crudly drawn ones or funny ones. Either they don't really prove a point or they basically say "to be funny, smoke!" I mean, every once in a while you get a really nasty one (like the one with the girl licking everything...blegh it was SO disgusting!) but never one that truly SCARES the kids. All the kids today are really thick-headed and stupid and they will do something unless there is some BIG incentive not too (ex: you smoke, YOU DIE.) I know my mom taught me that if I put a cigarette in my mouth, I would die instantly.

P.S.: my mom also said that if I chewed my fingernails, one would go down my throat, cut my lung, and then I would choke on my own blood. Ah, I grew up in such a loving family!

P.S.: They should also have creepy ones for drugs.
