Trust Me Honey, You Don't Wanna Read This Stuff..Or Do You?
Ch3
Before dawn even broke out, Rebecca and Jingo were sent to go...shopping for supplies. Because the last of their money had been spent on food, and more urgent needs, they would be forced to steal supplies. Rebecca was decenty skilled but Jingo was quite the expert he stole left and right without even the ruffle of his clothes. Silent as the grave accurately described his movements.

When they finished, they headed back and began to set traps. They made it to booby trapping the upstairs enough to be effective but not enough that the smaller children would wander into trouble by noon. They decided to wait until nightfall to start again. Working in the day time, when children were being adopted left and right, would not be wise. They instead worked on alibi's as to why 18 year old Rebecca would be handling the customers from now on.

Rebecca was sitting in her room, just reading. It was a slow afternoon. She sat on the couch in the downstairs living room. It was only three hours until the appointed 'lock down' time that Charlie had set. After eight, which was right after the ritual of cleaning up for bed, no one was allowed to leave thier room for the entire house would be wired. (Wired being a term for "You make a wrong move and *crosses finger over throat*)

Rebecca tensed when Jingo said, standing next to the couch, "Hey..."

Rebecca glanced up at him and nodded her hello. Jingo shoved her feet back gently and sat down saying, "Look, I'm sorry alright? In the past week that I've been here, you haven't breathed a word to me."

Rebecca held her silence. Talking to him would lead to him making her smile, making her smile would lead to her forgiving him for the trouble he brought, and that made it easier for him to break into the iron cast defenses of her heart.

Jingo put a gentle hand on her arm and said, "Please Rebecca, say something, even say you hate me! Just please, say something, anything."

Rebecca held her silence once more. Jingo let out a heavy sigh and left her alone. Charlie came in the room and let Jingo leave. He kept a sober expression as he heard Jingo go up the stairs, and said only when he heard a door shut, "That was uncalled for."

"What was?" She snapped.

"Not speaking to him even when he apologized, AGAIN."

Rebecca ignored him. "Look, i don't care if he apologized. This isn't even about that anymore."

Charlie sat beside her and said softly, "Then what is this about?"

Rebecca refused to speak further. She was not about to tell Charlie. He had a bad habit of trying to solve disputes. This bad habit caused him to talk about things he had no right to speak of. Charlie gave up and said as he left, "You know, eventually, you'll have to forgive him."

"Eventually could be months, maybe years. You know how my forgiveness habits are."

I know all to well Rebecca...Charlie thought leaving. He went upstairs and climbed into bed, falling straight to sleep. He had no engery to stay up. He began to think of other things...his thoughts drifting to Kai... Then, he began to dream. He dreamt of the family he planned to start with Kai when she was a couple years older and when he could hold down a job.
