Paper left in the ashes
I like writing stories, about what's going on in the world, anything really.
An as of yet untitled story
Last summer a few friends and I wrote an rp, since then we haven't really written anything. I did, however, save everything we wrote onto my computer. I really like it, so I'm deciding to post it up here, but entries may take a bit because I have to do a lot of editing. I hope you enjoy and I'm going to color code the different character's points of view to make it easier. Ja ne!

The demon screamed as Karinyo plunged her silver katana into its black heart, but then the skirmish was over; all that was left of the hideous battle was some blood on her skirt and a pile of smoldering ashes at her feet.
"There," she said wiping her blade free of filth in the grass, "That's all taken care of."
She glanced at the civilian she had just saved, it was a teenage girl who was currently cowering by a tree, "You should try not to flirt with demons," Karinyo told the girl, she made it sound like a scolding.
She nodded and ran off, shaking. Karinyo shrugged and continued walking to her target's house. The girl Karinyo was sent to retrieve went by the name of Ayame Scofield, the daughter of a prominent necromancer, and bearer of the seal of earth. She had flown all the way from Japan to affrim if she bore a seal, or more importantly to see if she had the ears.
Karinyo's cat ears twitched, the short black fur rippling slightly in the wind, she sensed a dark presence following her. She unfurled her midnight black wings and took to the air taking a roundabout way to the girl Ayame's house. To her surprise the dark aura seemed to have taken to the air along with her, for she could sense it's aura following. Karinyo skimmed low around a small neighborhood and changed her course to get to the right house more directly, so as to confuse the cur behind her. It worked, the presence was falling further behind.
When Karinyo reached the house she landed on the front lawn in front of a gaping boy watering a tree.
"Excuse me," she asked nicely so not to attract suspicion, "does Ayame Scofield live here?"
The boy only nodded and pointed at the house, his mouth still wide open, "Thank you" Karinyo replied, happy that she had come to the right place. She went to the door and rang the bell, a girl of about the same age as herself opened the door. She had gray eyes and black hair pulled back in a ponytail, to Karinyo's delight the girl had black cat ears. When she saw Karinyo staring at her ears smiling she covered them with her hands embarrassingly and asked what Kayinyo fancied she was doing at her door.
"Oh, I’m sorry." Karinyo said awkwardly, "I’m here to speak with you, you are Ayame Scofield right?"

Ayame had been inside most of the day, generally reading, writing or anything really. She had felt a presence in the air that night, and sure enough she heard the doorbell ring sometime after dark. The visitor seemed nice and Ayame could see the cat-like ears poking through her silver hair. Ayame looked over at the mysterious figure, she had seen him often. He had yet to approach her, yet he was never too far away. He was watching them carefully...
"Come in...” Ayame said to the girl.
She entered, Ayame was curious as to what she wanted and where she came from. Ayame picked nervously at her wings and saw that she also had wings and it intrigued her, but she also felt her aura. She was not on the same side as Ayame, she was born into darkness, and could tell that this girl was a protector of good. Ayame bit her lip and hoped that her father had not noticed the strange caller's presence. The house was fairly large, and she didn't think she had to worry. All the same, Ayame was tense at this point and didn't know what to expect...

Tsuki had awoken with a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. As the day grew steadily on the feeling got worse, but she followed my mother's advice and tried to forget about it. In the late afternoon, her mother sent her to fetch some groceries from the nearby marketplace. As Tsuki made her way back to the small village she stumbled over a rock in the road, as she fell the feeling sick feeling she'd had all day turned to pain and she blacked out.

Tsuki felt a soft breeze on her face and her eyes fluttered open; she was startled to find herself outside. She remembered what had happened and stood up rushing back to her home, realizing the sun was beginning to rise. She ran fast, and her house quickly came into view- or what was left of it. Her eyes widened in fear for her parents and rushed down to the ashes of her burned down home.

"Tsuki?" a voice asked, it was one of her neighbors. "Tsuki... I’m so sorry."

"They aren't..." Tsuki whispered, tears coming to her eyes. The neighbor had a pained look on his face as he shook his head. Tsuki collapsed to the ground and sobbed uncontrollably. She couldn't remember how long she had been crying, but it must have been a long time, the sun was high in the sky. Tsuki stood and began to search the ashes for any faint hope that her parents could be alive, or even just something to remember them by...

As she searched Tsuki saw a purple glow, she rushed toward it and found her staff, unscathed amongst the ash. Next to it was a tiny burnt box, she picked it up and opened it. Inside was a necklace with a tiny heart on it, it had been a gift from her father to her mother on their first date. Tsuki took it out of the charred box and put it on, sighing sadly and left the ash to find a place to stay for the night, soft tears still flowing down her cheeks...

Amaya reloaded as he watched the last demon fall. 'Here I am, stuck trying to kill a Soldier demon, while Karinyo is out fetching that girl, figures' he thought to himself. 'I got the fun job.'
He turned the corner, another Minion demon passed through his field of vision, and he centered the rails of the MP5 on the cur's chest. He was cloaked and he thought he was invisible, but through Amaya's eyes, he was plain as day.
A single shot struck his shoulder. 'Not good enough,' Amaya told himself, 'Concentrate.'
The demon roared in rage as his cloak faded, and his shoulder gushed black blood. Amaya took a deep breath, and the next shot struck him through the neck.
'No. Not ‘him’, ‘It.’ I must stop thinking of it as a person. It is inhuman, an animal,
and now it was a pile of ashes, dust to dust.' Amaya thought, he chuckled, "If Karinyo heard my thoughts she'd berate me."
