Seriously, someone should advise a title for this thing, I'm to busy editing
The girl let Karinyo into her house, which was fairly huge. She could feel 2 auras, one hers, and the other, which loomed larger, though she could tell it had not sensed her yet. Ayame picked at her wing, Karinyo could tell she was wary of her. The girl's aura was of darkness, Karinyo sighed, she would be harder to convince than Amaya had been.
"I bet you are wondering why I’m here." Karinyo said
Ayame looked bewildered and nodded “My name is Karinyo Ito, and I am here to tell you something important. You and I know that we are not like normal people, in fact, we are far from that. I can tell that you know of your abilities, and that you are wary of me. I also know you have a distrust of things from the light, but the demons will come...."
She jumped at the mention of the demons and clutched a scar running down her fore arm, "What are you going at?" she asked
"You have great power Ayame, but you are using it for darkness."
"I don't understand"
"Let’s say, for instance, if the only 2 people in the world were you and the little kid outside; I'm guessing he's your brother, and demons had been terrorizing him alone, would you stop them?"
"Well yes, of course."
"But would you be willing to kill to save such innocence?"
She hesitated..........
Karinyo stopped scrutinizing her for second, she felt an immense wave of sadness from far off. This had never happened before, Karinyo had thought she’d mastered all her powers since she was young, when Mr. Ito took her in. She shuddered on the inside, this girl was so very lucky, she had an accepting family who loved her, even for her differences. Karinyo couldn't even remember her parents, all she knew was that when she was born her mother, left destitute by her lover, disowned her when she saw the cat ears ears poking out of her newborns unnatural silver hair.
From there the hospital gave Karinyo to the orphanage, where she was treated like dirt for the first four years of her life. When the headmistress started beating her for the sixth time that day, she cracked. With a scream like no other Karinyo put her hands out to block the evil woman's belt. That was the day she discovered her powers, when she ran away from that accursed orphanage, and where she spent the next five years till she was nine stealing to survive. Karinyo learned how to use her newfound powers somewhat, and hid in the forest next to her small village, and for awhile remained an ongoing threat. That is, until the villagers called in someone who dubbed himself a monster hunter. He had thought Karinyo was a filthy demon, but when he saw her, he held out his hand and took her with him. That was the day Mr. Ito, Karinyo's adopted father and leader of her group, took her in.
Karinyo snapped back to attention, the girl was staring at her strangely.
She looked her in the eye, "Would you be willing to take life?"
It was midnight; Ryuu always got hungry at midnight. He was sitting in a tree, tail wrapped around the limb he was perched on. His hunger wasn’t helped by the fact that the tree was on the outskirts of a farm. He hungrily watched a goat blissfully wandering in its pen and his clawed feet nearly shattered the wood of his tree. He could not stand it any longer and flew from the tree, silently landed behind the animal. He felt his retractable claws extend as he prepared to take yet another life.
A branch snapped behind him. Quickly feeling with his mind he was able to see a man with a 20gadge shotgun approaching. Ryuu smirked, a trap, 'This is what I get for being sloppy.'
His tail was in the air as he turned and grabbed the man’s shotgun, averting it from his chest and sending a jolt of static down the gun paralyzing the man. In one final, logical move Ryuu's tail came down and killed the goat. He grabbed the goat, his tail curling around the fresh carcass and flew to a different tree. He had to leave the farm land, and that meant the nearby city.
As Amaya looked on, two more demons deactivated their cloaking devices. Not that it mattered much to him, the eyes of the fox don’t miss much. One of them spun to face him, and, of all things, spit at him. Amaya ducked, and the blob of black saliva hit the wall behind, hissing and smoking as it welted the concrete.
'These things have boiling spit? That was a new trick in my book.'
The thing’s partner joined in the assault, but instead of spitting, they came in charging, this took Amaya by surprise, he fired, and the sloppy shot struck the lead demon in the left side of the chest. The thing was close, too close. Amaya brought the gun up in one hand, and pulled his silver dagger from its sheath. The demon took a swing at him, and Amaya jumped over the grotesque arm, twelve feet in the air. Amaya came down, and stabbed him in the head. He realized he had a very nice angle, and from his new vantage point above the now-corpse head, raised his left hand and fired a three-round burst into the second demon’s chest.
Amaya jumped off of the corpse, sheathed his dagger, and pulled his other sidearm, a compressed-air powered water gun, filled with holy water. With that in his left hand, and the MP5 in the right, Amaya was going to be hard to beat.
He turned the corner in the godforsaken labyrinth of a warehouse, and saw him. A minor demon leader, a soldier demon, all nine feet of him.
