Dear Diary, What should I say today?
Lab [305] Sevilin Adoption
((Alright, I know I should be working on Lil and Tyson's life, but I'll post this for now! Sevilin, a raevan at Lab [305] needs a new guardian, so I decided to try and see what would occur. My entry responding to prompt #1 was born! 8D Yay! Since the contest is in the judging phase, I think I can show this now.))

Quote:
Name: Ac.Wings
Prompt: #1
Guardian(s): Lillian and Tyson

“Hello? Children? Are you hiding here? Please come out…You two are very good hiders! I…I give up? Is that what I should say now? I’m done! Are you two done?” Sevilin asked politely into the darkened room. Currently the water based frei was peeking inside only one of the large timber door frames that lined the hallway he floated within. The little being did not wish to disturb whatever was lurking on the other side of the door, so he kept his voice soft and soothing.

Even in the shroud of night, Sevilin knew that the newly discovered room probably contained strange and old relics. That was all he had come across so far in the never-ending mansion’s rooms. Every door he opened, every hallway he passed in, some kind of mask or painting was staring down at him. To him, even the old painted pots watched his every move. Sevilin already decided that those clay creations that held beautiful flowers were out to get him. Whenever he was by one, they would fall! He wouldn’t breathe, he wouldn’t even move, and yet they would tumble to the ground and produce a sound similar (to what he thought) a banshee scream sounded like.

“C-Children…?” Sevilin whispered as he gathered his courage and entered the quiet room.

Yep. As he expected earlier, this room was another cavern that held strange things inside its plastered walls. Yet, instead of frightening masks, odd statues, and smelly oil paintings, his aqua eyes met a room that took his breath away.

“Beautiful…” He whispered, his voice barely escaping his parted lips. Without another word, Sevilin floated his form over to what had captured his growing interest.

An aquarium! It was enormous too! Swimming inside the sanctuary was a variety of fish. There was an angelfish, a puffer fish, and a pair of clown fish! That was only naming four out of the dozen that resided inside just one tank! Upon further inspection of the room Sevilin could see that there were even more tanks here than just the one he was spying at.

What a pleasant surprise! Ever since he came to this house and watched a show on fishes. He had a strong urge to see them up close like this. The children must have not gotten around to telling him about this grand room! Or…maybe they were just concerned that the assorted undersea homes would break like the pots did upon his arrival?

“Hey! Hey you! What are you staring at!? She’s mine, Buck’o! Yeah! I’m talking to you, Fish Head!” Someone barked from behind Sevilin. The young one was merely examining the nearest tank that held one colorful angelfish when he was interrupted by the intruding voice.

Whatever it was didn’t waste time to continue on screaming and hollering as Sevilin regained his balance. The startled frei luckily caught himself before he collided with the wall. That would have been very painful if he had hit…

“W-What? Oh! Oh dear! I-I’m sorry! I d-didn’t mean to s-stare! F-Forgive me, please!” Never did he think about who this voice could belong to after hearing it. In his turnabout to face the angry presence, he expected to see a human. Not just any of course, but the type that fit in the violent shows Koyuki never let him watch. The one’s with men who held ‘guns’ and would say things like, ”Lights out!” or “I’ll be back.”

Never in his wildest dreams did he expect to find a…a…a fish?!

Well, that was the only thing he could find behind him. Certainly this thing was no large man in a black trench coat. It possessed no weapon, other then being silly looking tuna.

Sevilin breathed with a new found sense of relief as he saw this creature was of no threat to him. “Oh! You scared me, Mr. Lion Fish!” He told the creature, giving it a gentle smile as he went through the process of regaining his lost composure.

Then it dawned on him…fish don’t talk!

“Monster!” Was all Sevilin could come up with as he spiraled backwards to avoid whatever voodoo tricks this being held inside itself. The flourishing composure he had currently held vanished in an instant. It was replaced with panic, and sent Sevilin scrambling for cover.

Never did Sevilin see the innocent bowl that rested in the spot he was scurrying into. “Watch it you Dolt!” The angry lion fish hollered as soon as Sevilin made contact with the watery domain.

Crash!

Unfortunately for the sea fairy, he was too late to catch the falling bowl. Now all that remained was a sputtering fish, shards of glass, colorful pebbles, and water.

“Oh no!” Sevilin cried as soon as he saw the damage he had just caused thanks to his clumsiness.

Among the screams of the first fish and the new voices that followed (belonging to the onlookers who were also fish), Sevilin scrambled to scoop up the small creature that flopped frantically on the ground.

“Please forgive me! I-I didn’t m-mean to! I-It just happened! A-Are you okay?” He asked with urgency as he cradled the fish in his trembling palms.

“Sevilin? Are you hiding in here?” A familiar voice asked, a younger version following in pursuit, “Ghost in the graveyard! Come out and see!” It cried, a giggle following afterwards. “Tyson…this is hide and seek, not ghost in the graveyard…” The older voice scolded the other as they entered the room.

“Children!” Sevilin cried with urgency as he held up the gaping fish, ”Save her! Please! It was an accident! I didn’t mean to hurt her!” The tension in his voice wavered into that of begging as his eyes never wandered away from the could-be heroes.

Lillian, the oldest of the two humans who had entered the room. Stared down at what Sevilin was showing her. She reached forward and gently took it from his hands. Without a second thought the young woman walked the fish over to a tank and plopped it in.

“There! She’ll be just fine now.” Lillian replied, resting her hands on her hips gloating in a sense of her "accomplishment" you could say.

Upon turning back to face them, Lillian was greeted with the sight of a sunken Sevilin. The poor frei looked torn and very upset even after the drama supposedly ended.

“I’m sorry…” He murmured. Those aqua marine eyes of his sullen and downcast while he spoke, “I’m so clumsy! This is my fault. Maybe this is the reason why she left. I almost killed that poor fish. The others had a right to scream and be mad at me. I hurt their friend.”

“Huh?” Lillian asked as she and Tyson walked over to the lowered Sevilin, the frei hovering close to the floor while he wallowed in deep misery. “What are you talking about? That fish will be fine. I hear no other fish screaming, so maybe you just need to lie down? You’re still getting used to the house…and I hear sleeping takes stress away. Trust me, I know that for sure.” She replied looking over the upset frei. Her bright hazel eyes sizing him up from top to bottom. While she did this, Lil made sure to take into account all the non-existent factors that might have caused him to act this way.

Something must have been up if he thought the fish were talking with him. Never in her wildest dreams did Lillian suspect it was a power he was slowly gaining.

“And the thing with your past guardian, worry little about it. Stuff happens in life that you aren’t expecting and you need to take it by the horns. Something came up, and if you ask me. I think she did the right thing and made sure you found a home. You’re clumsiness had nothing to do with that. Now, you and Tyson need to go to bed. I’ll clean up here. No more wallowing in misery from you, mister.” Lillian told the two as she rolled up her sleeves, preparing herself for the clean up. Boy…did she feel like some weirdo giving such a long spiel!

Sevilin gave her a somber and uneasy gesture with his eyes. Before Lil and Tyson knew it, a smile had spread across his gentle face. Her words had brought him some joy! Also, the groans and grumbles coming from Tyson who was on his regular brigade for a later bed time hour helped too.

Lillian took notice of his smile. Sevilin was such a harmless raevan who clearly wouldn’t hurt a fly. This incident with the fish proved that wholeheartedly.

As the boys left, Sevilin recalled what Lillian had told him. He had been feeling stressed out lately. First the missing of Koyuki, then the lab going up in smoke, finally there was the moving into this confusing home! The breaking of the fish bowl was just the stick that broke the camel’s back. “Um...Miss Lillian? Can I come back and make sure the fish is doing okay tomorrow?” He asked, his eyes falling to the tank where the fish he spoke of regained its grounds.

“Oh! Sure, if you want you can even make it a ‘Get well soon!’ card!” Lillian told him with a laugh as she shooed them out of the room one final time.

Sevilin thought of it for a moment, his smile increasing. What a wonderful idea! He had seen plenty Hallmark card commercials on T.V. to know such cards of well wishes would make the fish happy. “Okay! I think she would like that!”

With a hug goodnight and a quick wave, Sevilin was on his way out after the younger sibling. On their way to his bedroom, the sea fairy happily listened to Tyson’s jibber jabber of the new comic book he recently received in the mail today. The worries and woes of earlier ceasing as new waves swept onto the once desolate beach. For within time, it would regain it's beauty and become whole again.
