Emi looked up from her cookie. “Hmm..? Oh, you mean in Sevilen’s place.” She shifted positions to be more comfortable. “Well… a lot.” She began. “While you were showering, I wandered outside because I smelled something delicious. I just wanted something to eat. The next thing I know, I’m grabbed by… someone. I never got a good look at them because I was shoved in a bag.
“Next thing I knew, I was in Sevilen’s place, just flopped onto a table. He held me down and I was strapped to corkboard using staples. He wanted me to tell him something.” confused
“What was that?” I asked.
“He wanted to know more about you, where you came from, what your weakness was and who you were close to. Like I’d be able to tell him that. He also wanted to know more about the fairy dust, how it worked and where it came from. I wouldn’t talk, talk2hand so he decided to start stabbing me with a needle. In the end, he just used me as bait. He then just left without another word. Next thing I know, Kitty dropped down from the ceiling and woke up here at your place.” She then looked up at me, giving me that worried look. “Karakal… you okay?” sad
I did not respond. I couldn’t respond. Not while my fists were shaking and my voice incapable of being lower than a shout. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. “I’m fine.” I said, though my words came out much sharper than I intended. mad
She gave me a funny look, not believing me. confused
mad “I just don’t want you getting hurt again. So it’s probably best that we… don’t know each other.” I said.
“What? Why? Are you just going to leave me? You promised me… “ Her voice got softer. “You promised me my wings…” sad
“I will still hold that promise, Emi, but I will not let you get hurt again. You or anyone else.”
“So what are you going to do?”
“You’re going to stay with Kitty. I’ll… I’ll just be off on my own.” I honestly had no idea what I was going to do.
“If you’re sure…” She said.
I brushed her hair with my thumb. “I’m not leaving forever. I just don’t want to have you with me or have you used against me. I’ll come back, I promise.” wink
