Chapter Sixteen
“Excuse me ladies, but have you seen Yuna?” asked a calm, collected voice. The girls gasped at who it was because it was none other than Subaru. “No way,” Haiyasho muttered.
“S-S-Subaru-k-kun,” Kanami stammered. Haiyasho stood up with a smirk. “Well look who it is, Mr. Clumsy is back from the hospital! I thought you weren’t due to come back for another month or so.”
“I’m honored that you’d be worried about me Haiyasho-san. It seems like you haven’t changed a bit from our last encounter.” He answered with a smile.
“What’s that supposed to-“”A-Anyway, S-S-Subaru-kun, how is your arm?” Kanami asked interrupting Haiyasho and walking over to him. He grinned and took her hands in his. “Oh, Kanami-Chan; so kind and considering, my arm got a quick recovery and I couldn’t leave you all to tend to the festival without my help.”
Haiyasho sighed when Kanami blushed “I-It’s nothing Subaru-kun.” They all knew she had a soft spot for him. They’d been friends since they were little and were close. Only he didn't’ think of her as more than just a friend or little sister. “Weren’t you looking for Yuna, Subaru?”
“Oh that’s right, it almost slipped my mind!” he said smiling sheepishly. “I have to go now Kanami, but I’ll talk to you later, okay?” he kissed her hands and waved goodbye. “B-Bye, Subaru-kun,” Kanami muttered staring at the spot he had just been.
“You’re one lovesick puppy, aren’t you, Kana?” Haiyasho asked her almost sickly. “I don’t understand what you see in that guy? He’s just so-“
“Ooh, my head. Where- What happened?” Ayame asked rubbing her head. Kanami handed her an ice pack. “You hit your head on a cabinet.” Haiyasho lied. She looked at Kanami and told her silently to play along. “T-That’s right! Are you alright Aya?”
She smiled at her sisters. “I’m fine, thanks for worrying about me.” She stood up and put her hands on her hips. “I’m just fine, nothing can stop me from making the festival’s food the best anyone had ever tasted!!” she laughed loudly.
“I liked her better when she was knocked out. . .” Haiyasho whispered to Kanami. “You said it,”

Chapter Seventeen
“Put that over there you two. You; put that display case in the storage closet next to the art room. Hey- You! Don’t touch that, please it’s still wet!” Yuna yelled. She sighed. “If only Subaru-kun were here to help. It’d be so much easier.” She muttered to herself.
“It would be easier, wouldn't’ it?” asked a voice. She spun around to see him. She gasped and embraced him. “Subaru-kun!! I thought you were in the hospital still! Thank Kami-sama that you’re here!” Yuna told him.
He grinned. “Well, my arm made a quick recovery, and instead of staying home and resting I decided that I’d help with the production of the festival. It is tradition after all. Besides, I couldn’t stay away from you.” He joked. She snorted “Right, now how about you help me. The gardening committee needs help with the flower arrangement and the display boards got scattered so I need all the help I can get from the people just standing around” Yuna said handing him a clipboard and shoving him in the direction of the courtyard when a dozen people were yelling for Yuna to help them.
“Yuna,” Subaru said before going. “Subaru-kun, I know you probably want to share your wonderful stories about being in the hospital for the millionth time but there’s no time. I’m sure we can talk later or so-“ She started. He stopped from talking a mile a minute after kissing her lightly on the cheek and muttering. “It’s good to be back.”
Yuna felt her cheeks burn with red. ‘Did he just-‘but she shook the thought from her head when someone tried to climb on to a sculpture. “Hey!! Get off of that! I swear if you ruin that YOUR head will be on display!!” she scolded walking towards the sculpture. It was going to be a long day,

Finally, the school day had ended. Yuna was slouching in a chair with her feet up on a stool. She sighed. “Finally, some time to relax.” She muttered peacefully to herself. The gym doors were open so a cool spring breeze was coming in.
The door opened wider and a boy stepped in. she thought it was someone from the garden committee “Come on, the Flower Arrangement will be continued tomorrow-“ but when a pair of lips crushed into hers she opened her eyes to find out that it was Yuji.
He smiled warmly at her. “Someone had a rough day.” He noted when he pulled away and pointed to her posture. She laughed, throwing her head back. “Not rough, just busy. I’m head of the Student Council. And it’s my job to make sure everything is where it’s supposed to be when it’s supposed to be. And this is only for the first week. Next week I’m going to prepare things. . .” she started to complain but he captured her lips again. “Shush, don’t worry about it until it comes, alright?”
She pouted. “I can’t help it. It’s only been like this. My job is to worry about everyone and everything.” He caressed her cheek and sat next to her, “That doesn't mean worry about your job 24/7.” He pointed out.
“True, but-“she protested but he hushed her again. “You worry more about others than yourself, Yuu.” He told her. She looked down and stood up. “Do you want to know why,” she asked turning to him, “if you haven’t guessed already?”
