Katherine leaned against the window in dead silence. She watched as the scenery flew by, trying so hard to keep her focus there and not on Elric. She fidgeted in her seat. I have to do something… She couldn’t help but to just nonchalantly eye Ed. But as soon as she looked he returned the stare, which caused Katherine to whip her head around and leave an imprint of her forehead nose and mouth on the glass. Elric chuckled in his seat and Katherine shot him a dirty glare, which only caused him to laugh more. “You look bored out of your mind. How are you at card games?” Katherine raised a brow. “Decent.” With that he whipped out a deck of cards. “Let’s make this interesting.” Elric had a devious grin on his face. “I win you have to help me with the lessons in Alchemy. I saw you on my roster.” Katherine folded her arms across her chest. “And if I happen to win?” Elric had to think about that for a bit. “Instant A in my class.” Katherine leaned in and eyed the Professor. “Deal.” Katherine took the deck and shuffled it like any Vegas dealer would. Elric declared that the game was poker. One hand, winner takes all. Katherine dealt the hand. She had a decent hand. She looked over her cards at Elric, who had a blank face. Damn it… he has a good poker face… Silence was all that was in their car. “Straight.” Katherine laid down her hand, her stomach was in knots, Eric’s face was still straight, and that is… until a smile cracked on his face. “Royal Flush.” Before Katherine could really process what was happened the train lurched forward roughly, making Katherine fall out of her seat and onto Elric. Katherine’s face instantly turned red and she fled from the car, off of the train and to the station, where she squirmed impatiently for Elric to get off the train. I bet Kelsey isn’t having this much trouble…
