I keep doing it.
Coming back here, searching for something that just isn't there.

What caused all of us to drift so far apart?
Can we really blame life?
Or is it just that we all lost the desire to remain friends?

Remember the community, the sense of belonging.
Remember when you and I would spend our days speaking to each other?

I haven't spoken to you in almost a year, you know.
A snapchat sent on accident, or accidentally on purpose.

But I have no words for you.
Even if I were to try, I am honestly tired of reaching out to you.

It wasn't even worth it to tell you I made it back to Virginia safely.
You've said everything you've ever needed to say.

And in another universe, we are still friends,
and in another universe, you are actually a good friend.

But you don't possess that ability here.
And that's okay, it isn't my fight to take up.

I am continuing to grow with my friends, with my relationships, and with my family.
I will continue to fight for people who will fight for me,
but the fire in your eyes went out so long ago, and I just don't think I could be bothered with this ever again.

Maybe some day, we'll cross paths,
But I won't be waiting for that day to come.
Not like I would have five, six, seven years ago.

This December is our ten year friendship anniversary.
If only we had made it that far.

I wish you well in everything you do.
But you are not the person I knew,
nor am I that to you.

I am so tired of searching for a ghost or a glimpse of the people we were,
when they died so long ago.

I have to let you go, completely and utterly.
Which means no more of this silly website, because this is the last piece that links us together.

I'm going to change my password and call it a day.
I don't want to come back for anything.
