Noble Death
Just trying to write a book. One chapter every week at least, xD Hope you like it~
NOTE: This is the prologue, it's a little late so sorry, I wrote it after my friend said the first chapter was kind of confusing so hope this helps~
***********************************************************
Prologue
The musky smell of the fungi overwhelmed Alaric’s nose.
“Help, help, help me please,” was all he could say. Looking across from him to his left, he saw something else. He, no it, was his about eight, his age. It had claws and fur; it was the shape of a human but more like a wolf.
“Who are you,” it said, “did they bring you here?” motioning its tail to the tall African man. Alaric nodded and he crawled into the corner of his small cage as the man approached him.
“This is for your family’s protection, you’ll hurt them, you, are a MONSTER!” the man shouted.
“Shut up and leave him alone,” the wolf said.
“You shut up you little brat, be grateful that you’re still alive,” the man warned holding up what seemed to be a rifle. He stomped out of the room and came back and threw a plate of gruel to each of them.
“Bon Appétit,” he said sticking his middle finger at the two.
“Hey, what’s your name?” the “thing” said.
“A-a-Alaric,” Alaric timidly answered.
“Hi there Alaric, my name is Adalwulf, are you a vampire? I’m a werewolf, I’m not going to hurt you, they brought me here too,” Adalwulf coaxed
“I don’t know WHAT I am anymore, the lady bit me and then I-I-I fainted, Papa brought me here, where is papa. Papa! Mama!” Alaric cried.
“I know what it feels like, Momma and Poppa brought me here too when I bit one of my friends. It was just an accident. An ACCIDENT, MOMMA POPPA. I’m sorry,” Adalwulf cried.
They both burst into tears crying out for their parents who had desperately left them in selfishness in order to protect themselves. They cried out in desperation and in vain for their parents were long gone.
They had been killed; killed by the organization that had paid them for their children, The Society.
“SHUT UP YOU TWO BRATS OR I’ll SHOOT YOU WITH THE RIFLE!” the man threatened once again in vain. This made the two cry even louder.
Frustrated the man shot the rifle in the air proving he was serious about shooting two children.
Days passed, weeks, months, soon one year had passed and they both were still in their cages. They had gotten used to knowing that their parents were never going to come back for them. They had lost all hope.
When one loses all hope, they are just an empty shell. Those two were exactly that.
BAM! BAM! BAM! The metal door closing them off from the world suddenly flew open. The bright sunlight and the smell of flowers overwhelmed Alaric and Adalwulf and they squinted looking at the figure in the doorway.
A woman, not just a woman, the woman who had bitten Alaric was standing there. She had beautiful long blond hair and her eyes were a beautiful clear blue.
“Alaric, I am your ‘creator,’ I know you must hate me for that but this is for the best,” she said gently to him as she ran up to the man and knocked him out.
“Wh-what’s happening?” asked Alaric timidly, “what am I supposed to do?”
“You and your friend must run,” the woman commanded, “run until your legs hurt. Run away from here. Go NOW!”
She went up to Alaric and whispered, “I know you will be a great vampire, you will surpass all the others, I’m sure of it.” After that she hugged him tightly and ran back inside to continue destroying the building that the two were held in.
“Come on, let’s go we have to listen to her, we’ll be killed in the fire, LET’S GO!” Adalwulf shouted.
They ran and ran. They ran until they had to walk, they walked until they could walk no more. When they couldn’t walk any more, they stopped. Looking around they saw they were in a strange town with people with strange clothing.
No matter what happened the two stayed together and grew up. They grew up until they stopped growing. Yet, even when they stopped growing, life seemed to pass quickly before their eyes. They then found out they were immortal.
They lived the lives of normal children. Deep inside, they knew that they were somewhat normal yet different it their own way. They once again grasped hope that their lives could be changed but they would still be what they were. Werewolf, and vampire.
Alaric grew to look like his “creator” in many ways. Adalwulf’s guilt didn’t overwhelm him but was a big factor in his personality. They both held burdens that normal people their age should never hold. But, they weren’t exactly normal.

This is their story.
