Sonnet: The Deeper Hell. CH.1: A Walk in Darkness
"What...Happened? where are we?" Marcus asked as he awoke to see Verial and Saika looking around. "that brimstone thing made us crash into the lower levels." Verial replied. "as to the question on where we are; we're in deep s**t..." Verial continued as shadows seemed to grow. "lets find the others" Saika said as Verial opened a whithered door. "we need to get out of this lace as soon as possible." Marcus replied as he gathered what he could of the weapons in the debris. "that's right, your group has a different goal then ours...that might cause problems." Verial said as he holstered his shovel to his back. "why?" Saika asked. "we're both going in different directions, but we need to team up." Marcus answered Saika.
"it's definitely dangerous to go alone...' Verial said as he looked at Davis' charred
name tag. "i see, i guess I'm with you guys now." Marcus said while he and the other made their way through a dark ally. as they walked and wandered they found S.T.F. equipment. "did the task forces really go this far down already?" Verial asked himself. "i don't think they did..." Marcus said as he examined scratch like marks in the ground. "but i don't see any clothes, did they manage to escape?" Verial said as he walk over to the marks. "we should hide..." said Saika as she tugged on the two and pointed to a small group of fire haunted.
"it's so dark, where are we going?" Lilia asked Azrei. "we need to head deeper, with Milly guiding us, we should get there faster." Azrei explained as he turned on two flashlights and handed one to Lilia. "umm, i was also wondering...is Milly...dead?" Lilia whispered. "no, i'm kinda alive..." Milly answered. "kinda?" Lilia asked pointing her light a Milly. "they killed me to summon the demons, but they said some kinda energy brought me back." Milly explained. "spiritual energy perhaps?" Azrei said as he to shined his light on Milly. "yeah, i think thats what they said." replied Milly as she tried to dodge the beams of light while giggling. "so that kind of stuff is real?" Lilia asked still shining the light on Milly. as they continued to walk they noticed light ahead.
"what the? does electricity still work down here?" Azrei asked Milly as he examined a still lite lamp post. "the mad people are fixing what was burnt. they started to fix the electric stuff first."she replied while kneeling on the ground and began to play with a brunt doll on the ground. lights flickered and the three felt an eerie presence. "i think we should go." Milly said standing behind Azrei and Lilia. soon both fire and stone haunted began to surround the three. "this isn't good..." Lilia said slowly pulling out her shovel. "damn, we're too tired from all the walking, we need to escape and hide somewhere..." Azrei said nudging the two into an empty ally. "the mad people prolly know we're here..." Milly said as she removed boards revealing a small escape route.
as Saika, Verial, and Marcus creped into a small house, they noticed that the haunted were in pursuit of someone else. "who are they chasing?" Saika asked Verial and Marcus. "i don't know, but we need to help whoever is getting chased..." Verial said as he made his way to a window to spot the pursued. suddenly, the one being chased, jumped though the window Verial was just about to look through and crash landed on him. "********!" the unknown person said as he pulled a shard of glass from his thigh. "shh, be quite. your lucky they decided not to come in here!" Marcus whispered to the unknown person. "what's your name?" Saika asked as she helped stop the bleeding.
"v-Vorsul Ashrod. I have to say, it's nice to see living people for a change." Vorsul said as he stumbled to a small couch in the room. "how long have you been here?" Verial asked. "my team was one of the first to arrive. when we came down in this level, we were attacked by those things. only me, my sister and a friend managed to stay alive so far." Vorsul replied. "are they still alive?" Saika asked Vorsul who was now falling asleep. "I...I'm not sure, we got separated last night due the the upper levels crashing down on us...i hope they're ok..." Vorsul replied as he fell asleep. "we should try to rest to. we'll need the energy..." Verial said as he sat down in a corner. "i'll stand watch until one of you wakes up." Marcus said as he sat on a wooden chair.
"ouch!" Milly exclaimed as she tripped. "what the...it's a person!" Azrei said as he examined what Milly tripped over. "are they...dead?" Lilia asked as she picked up a stick and poked the body with it. "hhmmm..." the person moaned in their sleep. "the person is asleep!? what ever, I'll carry them, lets get out of here!" Azrei said as he saw a fire haunted foot through the hole. when they reached safety Azrei attempted to awaken the sleeper. "geez this person can sleep" he said as he knelt down and leaned over the person removing his helmet . "hey! wake up!" Lilia yelled at the sleeper which suddenly sat upright head butting Azrei in the process. "w-where am i!?" exclaimed the now a awake person. "your safe...oww...we should have taken your helmet off first..." Azrei replied as he rubbed his throbbing head.
"A- Azrei!?" the person asked taking off their helmet. "Lumia? is that you?" Azrei replied with another question. "a friend?" Milly said as she poke the person with the stick Lilia picked up. "ouch! yeah, my name 's Lumia Ashrod. it's nice to met you...i think." Lumia replied as she stopped Milly from poking her face with a stick. "how've you been? i haven't seen you in ages!" Azrei asked Lumia. "i've been better" Lumia said as she held a sprained wrist. "are you hurt?" Milly said as she tried to poke Lumias wrist. "umm...I'm ok. umm, what are you doing down here?" Lumia asked. " well, long story short: we're here to stop all of this. everyone has been pronounced dead. me, Lilia, and Milly here, plus some others are going to stop this madness before another city gets destroyed by these things." Azrei replied. "WHAT!!?" Lumia blurted out.
