The Story of Bowe Elias Rankor
By, The Overseer
A peaceful day
The day was bright and warm with a cool breeze that swam through Bowes light grey hair. Today for trainning, he decided he would goto the Bass'ken Lake to practice. He prefered the north side as it was away from the peer and therefore more peaceful. The Lake was calm, and the sun gave it a soothing deep blue that reminded him of his sister, Shiva. But now was not the time for fond memorys, he had to practice to keep up his physical strength. Later he planned to hone his powers, but not now.
Only in hand and feet wraps and his black linen waist wrap, he took the stance of House Thanatos. First, he put his left foot forward and turned the toe slightly to his right for balance. Second, he pushed his right foot back slightly to give better balance, yet again, and lent back on his right leg straightening his left and bending the right knee. Third, simultaniously, he turned his body to his right while bringing his right hand to his gut, bending the elbow, and straightening his left arm to point at the enemys feet (if there was one). Forthly and lastly, with his right hand facing up and the left facing down, he opened the fingers and hand as to mimic the hands of the Dragon Stance of a far east culture many miles from Gaia. And with these final adjustments, Bowe was ready to practice.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, he was just about to make the first move, a right five-finger solar plexus hit also known as the Wind Breaker (not to be confused with another action), when a voice of a young child seemed to come out of no-where.
"Why are standin' so funny?" The voice said abruptly. Slightly shocked, as he thought he was alone, Bowe turned to the child, whom was a young girl about 6 or so, and said in a cool tone, "I am practicing for future battles" and with that was going to continue, still in his stance, to follow thrue with the move. That was, until the child croped up again and exclaimed "Why?!" and in a silent voice as if someone where listening in, bent towards Bowe and whispered "...does someone want you dead?...." Giving a sigh, knowing that he will not get peace unless he explaind to the child why he was doing what he was doing, Bowe stood out of the stance and looked the child over.
About 4 and a half feet tall, with black hair done in pig tales, she stood looking up at Bowe with wide green hues for eyes. She was dressed in a blue spoted, with a pink back colour, denim short dress, only down to her knees, with frills on the shoulders. The dress was short sleaved and the frills where white. White long socks under black buckled shoes, only ankle high. She stood, hands behind her back, swaying from left to right, as children of that age tend to do for some unknown reason, waiting patiently for Bowe to speak.
"What is your name child?" He asked of her in a suspicious tone, "Mia" she responded in a high voice. If Bowe was a woman he probably would have thought it was cute, thank the Gods he was not a woman. "Well Mia, the reason for me 'standin so funny', is because I am a Warrior. And because of this, must traine every day so that I might keep my strength up, if not become stronger"
Looking confused at the explinantion, Mia turned her head to the side and mused aloud. "Why are boys always so voilent? All they want to do is fight and 'bash some noggins'" An expression probably learnt from another boy perhaps her age. "It is not just boys who fight each other," Bowe corrected her, "There are women who like to fight also, and not just slap eachother around. Some even buy or make blades and kill one another" Absolutly shocked by his words, Mia gasped and put both hands up to her open mouth. Again, she lent in and whispered "...realy? Why?"
"Another 'why' question, eh? Okay. Because women and men alike, may be different in an eternaty of ways, but inside many people is the yurning, will and potential to fight and fight well."
Shrugging her shoulders and raising her head, as if what she was about to say was from a Queen, she pronounced in a confident voice "hmph...well, I think it's STUPID and REAL Ladys don't fight, they sit down with they're other Lady friends and sip tea and talk about pretty things, like ponys and handsome Gentlemen"
Shaking his head and smiling at the nievness of this wistful girl, he was about to tell her that she sould not call others names, in a condecending tone. But, as was the way of this young one, she interupted him as he begane to speak. "You shouldn't-" "I have to go now to meet my mommy, she's waiting for me at Barton Jewlers. We are going to pick out a pretty ring for my big sister, she's going to be 18 in a week and we are getting her the most prettyest one! Bye strange man, I like your tattoos!" And with that, she ran past the lighthouse to the road and skiped down south with not a care for anyone around her.
-Children,- Bowe thought to himself -how people change in just a few short years from being like that, to sharpening a sword for revenge. What a world we live in-
Taking his stance once again, he let the past few minuites wash from his memory and concentrated on the task at hand. "What a world we live in..."

I am who I am and proud to be it.
