The Story of Bowe Elias Rankor
By, The Overseer
Just another night on the job
"What do ya mean 'He's not there anymore'?!!"
"I mean what I said, you dolt!"
"How can he be gone?! We where outside of the room the whole time! There is no other way out besides a couple o' hundred foot drop out the side of the tower!! And a man of HIS age and his CONDITION couldn't make it from the bed to the window without us hearing it."
"And the window's closed, too"
"This is just FAN-FREEKIN'-TASTIC!!"
"...aw man, Lady Seri is gonna kill us..."

In a room high atop a tower, inside a well built Keep on the west side of Gaias coast. There is a dying old man. His name is Amo Seri, a man of the ripe old age of 93.
During his lifetime, he had made a living as a Dock Master, not a bad life, until he reached 50 and then decided to deal in trade. It had payed off well for him and he made many fine deals, selling most of his stock and keeping the more valuble pieces to decorate his small Keep on a cliff side.
Amo was an honest man, and never cheated anyone in buisness. Even though he did enjoy a good prank or two, even as his health left him, and more than once, played a few jokes on his customers. But, he always made it known that it was "only a tad o' fun" and everyone left smiling in the end up. Loved by his wife, Bayvio, and his four children, Derus, the eldest boy, Hinra, the eldest girl, Saph, the second youngest girl, and Amo, the youngest boy. They all loved they're Father and always made it known.
Indeed, Amo Seri is a good man... but everyone dies.
Amo lay in his wonderfully decorated King sized bed, a benefit of a sea voyage a few years back, his slow breathing long and deep. His sight had been leaving him for the past week and in his blured vision, could hardly see the other end of the 15 meter (squared) room.
"So....very tyred...."
"It is not time to sleep yet Amo" a voice came from nowhere, deep and foreboding. Jolted by the sudden sound, Amo flashed his eyes open. A young man stood at his bed end. Mid twentys Amo would have guessed, light grey hair covering one eye, and in a large cloak. Amo could recall every face he had ever seen in his years, but he did not know this face...but even so.... the face was farmilure...
"You, lad, do I know you?" Amo said in a hoarse voice.
"Everyone knows me Amo. They just don't know what I look like. There is no-one ever left to tell them, you see." The man replied in a cool tone. Realising that he could see clearly again, Amo exclaimed "I can see clearly again!"
"Well, you will need your sight for the walk" Not needing an explination, Amo knew what he was talking about.
"That time already, eh lad? I'm happy that I have already said 'I love you' to me family"
"You are a good man Amo, I always give the good ones enough time to say their peace. Now stand, it is a short walk but I have others to attend to"
Giving a smile at the young mans words and slowly getting out of his bed, Amo replied "I sure you do laddy, come here and give me a hand, will ya?"
"Certainly" the young man said whilst taking Amo by the under-arm, helping him stand. They walked towards the door out of the room, located to the right of Amos bed. Taking the round knobed handle, the young man turned it clockwise and oped it with a creak, on the other end was not the room where two guards had been keeping watch, it led to outside. A long gangplank led to a ship rocking in the rain filled wind. They bothed walked out it as the door closed behind them.
The room now empty, stayed silent before the door opened once again.
"Lord Seri, I've just come to check on yo.... oh damn. HE'S NOT THERE ANYMORE!!!!"

I am who I am and proud to be it.
