If i tell you i love you,
what will you do?
Will you laugh in my face
say i love you, too?
Will you look at me funny,
and have nothing to say?
Will you then turn around,
and start walking away?
If i asked you to be there,
would you come, would you care?
Would you show up to late,
and give me that stare?
Would you never show up,
leave me alone?
Would you ever call back,
or let me hang on the phone?
If i told a story,
would you only ignore me?
Would you want my mouth silent,
to just leave and let you be?
Would you pretend to listen,
yet not hear a word?
Would you converse with others,
like i couldn't be heard?
If i told you i loved you, i know what you'd do.
You'd laugh in my face and say i love you, too.
It's not like it matters anymore,
Maybe one day i'll settle the score.
Maybe if i didn't have a bleeding heart,
you wouldn't have bloody hands.
Maybe someday you would acknowledge
But that seems unlikely, now as it stands.
