But seriously, I promise that my love is true
And I promise that you're special and I'll only love you
Because otherwise, if my heart wasn't bound by your love cage,
I wouldn't write anything for you that was over one page*
My heart is but a fireplace; you're the flame
And even before we were a couple, it was the exact same
Because, if you ask me, you were and are my reason to live
So my dedicated heart is all I can give
And so I train and raise my sword to protect
The ones I love as I try to deflect
The dark and negative thoughts that run through my mind
And every single one is considered the worst kind**
*Unfortunately, it's true. Sorry if it sounds mean....but that just means you're extra special to me because I love you this much...
**When I say loved ones, I mean friends, family, and of course you. Without a doubt.
