Sannachie Signing On!
I plan to jsut stick down random thoughts... useful bits I've picked up or random new things I've learned. Right now a friend has put me onto tektek.org to answer some of my questions. So far there's a lot to look thru but i still haven't found ou
"On a sunny afternoon...."
Sunny morning too. In defiance of our usual routine we puttered about this morning and were out of the house at 9:30 odd instead of 9 with only a rough idea of where we were going.
Instead of going to church as usual we went to this meeting in healesville which is about 40 mins away... today was church luncheon at our regular church as well. didn't particularly wanna go but Grandma asked us to so off we went...
arrived late and it's bad form to walk in half way thru so we went for a wonder in the park nearby instead... sunny, pleasant breeze, easy to walk, meandering path, cool drink = bliss. So we killed time in this pleasant way until it was break between church and Sabbath school went in and settled beside Grandma and Aunty Narelle... the singing was wonderful (I likes hymns ^_^) but the message was a bit extremist for me. Not Muslim extremist but Christian about how the Pope and the Jesuits are influencing America to become a persecuting power forcing everyone to obey the dictates of the Catholic church... and while much of what he said is Biblical the way he presented it (as if every word was fact and he couldn't possibly have it skewed or misconstrued or just plain wrong) was offensive to me. I dislike being talked down to and he was very patronizing... He's and extremist and very much a 'blood and thunder' style of preacher... definitely NOT endorsed by our church. Besides which... even if every word of his rather emotive lecturing was true what's the point of harping on it. We should get on with spreading the word of God rather than stewing over what the Pope and his mob are doing. Yes, the world is headed to hell in a hand basket and for all I know the Jesuits are indeed greasing the rails...even so there's nothing I personally can do about it so why stew over it...
Aside from the lecture they were very 'our collage is good, come to our collage' which we've never heard of and have a lot of free, religious stuff, to which we went 'meh... been there, seen that' we'll pass. On the whole the only thing we took out if that was seeing grandma and the walk in the park... waste of time otherwise.
We could stand about 30 minutes of this before we both went 'yeah, ah... luncheon it is' kissed our grandma goodbye and left.
Things were far more pleasant after that. Luncheon proved must satisfactory... (I brought home desert leftovers...^_^. Cakes and bikkies and fruit, oh my.) and then on the way home my sister decided to take a detour which took us over hill, dale and the occasional mountain... the road thru which was kinda close and scary... and my sis is apparently (i didn't know this) prone to panic attacks.
NOT VERY RE ASSURING!
Eventually we emptied out on a road near a town that was roughly familiar and from there we worked our way back to mums place.
It's just pleasantly warm outside and after lugging my stuff and assorted groceries from yesterday in mum and sister are crashed out on mums bed dozing...
I plan to do the same in my bed shortly... this sort of sleepy afternoon calls for a nap. (yawns) I love Sabbaths.

People like that speaker... while I'm sure he's very sincere, give our church a bad name... though my ma did have a point in that the extremists do work very hard to put there message across... would that we worked half as hard for the lord.
