Sannachie Signing On!
I plan to jsut stick down random thoughts... useful bits I've picked up or random new things I've learned. Right now a friend has put me onto tektek.org to answer some of my questions. So far there's a lot to look thru but i still haven't found ou
Road to Bethlehem has started. ^_^
It's an acting out of the Christmas Story done in about 8 scenes and our church puts it on free of charge every year... apparently for the last 13 years...
It's huge, thousands of people turn up to see it every year... we're shuffled through in batches of 50 odd... there are some people who play the same part every year and some who change parts... really animals and roman soldiers in broom crested helmets. ^_^ fun, fun.

Before u go in there's free balloon animals... or swords and flowers. The cutlass was very popular this year. A food tent, the tower of terror (climb tower thing wearing harness and then leap from this little, bitty platform to try and catch hold of this bar, then get lowered to the ground. Every year I wanna try it... every year i forget it's there and wear a skirt. razz ) crafts for the kiddies, face painting (I do that every year and I get one of 3 things... spider and web, purple octopus or a vampire smiley ^_^ )and a bubble machine so that u've got something to wack with the cutlass. There's also a brass band, lots of decorations and many, MANY parking assistants and guides.
It's held on the old camp grounds and they weren't really designed for such a MASSIVE influx of people.

I'd say the whole thing costs the church a mint but they say 'this is our gift to the community' and people can donate towards it, which is great cause it would be a terrible pity if it wasn't allowed to run or we couldn't put it on due to lack of $

We almost always go thru after 10 cause if u turn up off the street you're lucky there r any tickets left. razz
so we went, got our tickets and left till our time was ready... went to mackers for tea... man that was expensive.... I don't know how people can afford to do that regularly and my guts hate me. Not used to the deep fried evilness.

My sister took a friend to see it... he's not really a Christian but it's worth the looking. Even he admitted that at the end and he's a pretty cynical guy.

On the whole it was a good night even if it WAS midnight by the time I got home. razz
