Future Role-Play
Cyberpunk role-play!
Yawning, Hideko scratched the days growth of stubble covering his face. He blinked rapidly, clearing the sleep from his eyes. "I have got to get a new job." He murmured to himself sitting up at his computer. Recently in trouble with the "American government" he had fled to Beijing, hoping to escape in the constant flow of tourists, immigrants, emigrants, and business meetings. As the business capital of the world Beijing was constantly on the move, and seemed an ideal place to hide away for awhile. He smiled at the recollection of how close he had been to securing Microsofts next year plans.....this is what had gotten him in so much trouble now that the government had been virtually replaced by a conglomeration of different businesses. Shaking himself from these meaningless recollections, he signed out of his internet discussions and closed his laptop. Collecting his meager belongings, he left his coffin-like hotel room to begin his daily errands.

At the Nocturne Train Station, she went straight to the front counter to get a ticket. She could have probably snuck onto one of the hover freights without ever being caught, but that was beside the point. There were too many risks involved with doing so, and the ‘just in case’ sentiment caused her to be where she was now. Handing the man his money, she received her paper slip in return. Nodding to him, more for making a good impression to other civilians than anything else, she then turned and strode away.

It hadn’t taken her long to find the right hover vehicle, nor correct car. Once on, she made her way towards the back, choosing a seat for herself. Having traveled lightly, she transferred her bag from her shoulder to her lap before gazing out the window. The sights began to fly by as the trip started, and she soon let her mid wander. This would be her only break on this journey…

She was startled from her thoughts by the conductor’s voice, which was announcing their arrival at Rhapsody. Getting to her feet, she re-shouldered her sack before making her way towards the door. Handing the lady that was standing at it her ticket, she put up a smile before stepping off. Having taught herself not to look back, she didn’t take a second glance at her previous ride or even listen to the sounds it made as it pulled away. Walking forward instead, she kept her eyes ahead and her head in the present.

Though she had considered visiting her parents while she was there, she had also changed her mind at the last second. There just wasn’t enough time for the unnecessary, not when she had strict orders. She was to get to Beijing as soon as possible, no matter what it took. Whoever this guy was, her employers wanted him badly, dead or alive. It was a pity too, as she much rather have had specific orders so that she wouldn’t have to make more decisions.

Sighing, she made her way towards the airfield. The government had provided her with a private jet, as it was much faster than commercial airliners, even with all the recent advances in technology. Many celebrities had done the same here, so it wouldn’t look suspicious to anyone. Spotting what she assumed to be the acquired jet, she waved to the man standing next to it. He then stood at attention, waiting for her at the entrance, while holding the door open so she could climb in.

After she had done so, he closed that door and opened his own. Getting in himself, he checked behind him to make she was settled. Having looked as though she were, he returned to gazing toward the front and started up the engine. Soon, they were in the air. No words were passed between them, and all that could be heard was a slight rumble from the engine.
