Chapter 4: Break
It’s been three months since our last mission, said May.
I guess they’re waiting until Zach’s arm fully heals, said Kai.
Hey it’s not like I like this any better, said Zach besides I’ll be back to normal tomorrow.
Someone’s coming, said Nami.
Everyone looked up and to their surprise saw Kisho. He looked the same as always.
Congratulations soldiers on coming back alive from your first mission. After analyzing your report we have come up with valuable information. Now for the fun part, your ranking in the army. As you know there are 130 soldiers in our army. Based on what we have seen we will be able t rank you. May you have been ranked as 118. Nami you are ranked as103. Ritsuki you are ranked 99th. Zach you are ranked 55th and Max you are ranked 45th. Kai since you were able to beat Aaron Nero, who was our former 44th you have been given his place.
Aww man 118th place, said May.
Wait, why is Max lower than me? asked Zach.
Kisho just smiled and started to leave.
Oh and before I go, your ranks may change for better or worse, said Kisho.
Kai wasn’t too concerned about that, he wanted to know how powerful everyone else was if Aaron was that strong. Kai noticed Max leave the camp. Max hadn’t been around the camp a lot but Kai had never really taken an interest to it before. Kai tried to follow behind Max as carefully as he could, but Max didn’t seem to notice. Max finally stopped in an opening in the forest. Black and red energy started to surround Max. The ground broke around him. He swung his sword and the energy released. Everything in front of him was obliterated. Max dropped to one knee. Kai walked forward. He saw Max pick up his sword and stand back up. Kai walked out into the open and Max relaxed a bit.
When did you learn to do that! Said Kai.
Since we came back, said Max, after I lost to Aaron.
Kai was still shocked at the power Max had obtained but he couldn’t show it.
Let’s go back, said Kai.
Kai turned around and saw an explosion in the distance. He looked back at Max, who was looking at it to. They both sprinted towards camp. Everyone else in the camp had seen it and was getting ready. An incoming message started.
We are under attack; they have already broken through the North and East entrances and then silence.
