My eyes slammed open and I sat bolt upright.
–Whoa- I thought- If that was a dream, it takes the prize of tripped out dream of the year…
‘Azu?- And the she was beside me.
“Yes?” She said. I jumped.
“Sorry,” I said. “How are you this morning?… I mean with my pain and all. Whoa… You’re beautiful. So tall and bright and pale… hey, are those wings? You glow like a firefly on a misty night… and you’re miserable. You radiate pain… What can I do to make thing easier for you.”
She gasped and recoiled. “How? It’s impossible. It’s just not possible!”
“Why not. You linked with me didn’t you? That’s what that kiss was about? Sorry… sorry. I didn’t mean to freak you. It’s just… my senses are going a bit a weird lately. In bursts and stuff. Last time around Pretty Boy jolted me out of it with pain.”
“Be careful of him. There are two sides two him. Lord Gerome is a kind man but ‘the Master’ is not.”
“Right. I’ll… remember that. Also, I think I’ll ring Sensei and tell him I’ll be back in training next week. Do I have to be careful or you’ll be crunched or anything.”
“No… And you don’t need to care about me so much. It is my duty to care for you.”
“Which doesn’t mean I’m going to make it harder for you, now does it?”
“Another thing. Have you asked the Master’s permission to do that? Go back to training?”
“No. Why would I? It’s got nothing to do with him.”
“He might not think so. You still don’t understand. You are his property now. You have NO rights or will of your own. His will is yours now and it rules you completely. He can make you do anything!”
“We’ll see. There are some things that I reserve as mine and NO one messes with them. My family is one of these and my training is another. Besides… I want Sensei’s opinion. In any case, up-an-at-‘em time.” I made to get out of bed and buckled. “Ick. I see what you mean about the weakness. Ah, well, at least my heads clear today. Did Ger leave me any of the school stuff?”
“I… think so.”
“Great, brekky and then I’ll start work on that.”
