“The linkage is small and functions completely at your discretion. I cannot make use of it without your permission. But I don’t understand. This should not be possible. It gives you no control over me. It seems to be purely a communication linkage… except that I can tap your power through it… if you give me permission. Are you mad? Do you have no sense of self-preservation? Offering a being like me power like that.”
“Yeah, but you can’t use it without my say so… and you respect me too much to try and take it by force,” I ginned. “Still, I think I know how I got to the Psi Plains now. I was following you! That Pretty Boy Brat commanded you to link with me… its not my fault if I instinctively tailor that link is it. Speaking of him, do you think he knows what’s happened? I mean, I’m not supposed to be able to do stuff like this am I?”
“No,” said Azu looking blown away.
“You know the weirdest thing?” I added thoughtfully, “I get the feeling that I could replicate this process with anyone I felt like. Don’t know what good it would do me though.” I blinked suddenly. “Hey, what’s the time? Man, I’m hungry!”
