I couldn't visit her, but I had to make up a cover story about why as per her mom's request. I shouldn't have had been put in a position like that, but I stupidly followed what I was asked to do.

Here's what happened:
I was supposed to visit Natalie for two weeks, and I bought the ticket a month in advance. Her mom knew I was coming out, but she didn't tell Keith -- this is the source of the issue.

Natalie's mom called me up two days before I was supposed to fly out, and she tells me that she didn't tell Keith; She then asks me to call Keith directly and ask for permission. This isn't my responsibility in the first place, as Natalie's mom knew for a month that I was coming out, and since she and he are the parents, it's supposed to be her obligation. Nevertheless, I call Keith up directly and ask permission; He responds with a "See you Saturday" and hangs up promptly.

I think things are fine until after I get home, and which point Natalie's mom calls me up again. She tells me that Keith changed his mind, was locking her out of the house, and was throwing a fit. I'm told that I have to postpone my ticket (read: cancel) because of Keith's decision until 5 months from now.

She doesn't know Natalie and I are moving in together in a month in a half until after the fact, but this is a moot point.

Natalie's mom then asks me to make something up to tell Natalie about why I'm not able to come out so there'd be no trouble (read: get her off the hook). Again, I oblige and decide to use my check being late as a coverup. I hate lying to Natalie, but as of yesterday I told her the truth and I feel a lot better.

I got a voicemail from Natalie's mom a few minutes later basically saying that I blamed her for it and it was Keith's decision, etc.

Now I gotta figure out how I'm going to see Natalie. Now that her mom's mad at me, it's going to be more difficult. If worst comes to worst, I'll see her in a month and a half anyhow, but that's a while.

I may just bring her down here instead.
