SUMMARY: Too short to need one.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: Wow, it's been a while since I've made an entry, huh? Recent events (and Greatest Detective L) have inspired this short little story. TRU FAX.

There was only one advantage of being chained to Ryuzaki, forced to stay inside the confines of a tightly secured fortress of a building, and that was the knowledge that nothing could get in unwanted.

Or so he believed.

It was around 5 in the morning, just an hour after they’d decided call it a night, when he felt a chill run down his spine. He opened his eyes and, lo and behold, a spider was dangling above his face.

Heart in his throat, he, he jerked to the side, effectively crashing into his bedmate. In the dimness of the nightlight (Ryuzaki insisted they have one), he could see the spider drop to his pillow and crawl towards him. He scrambled desperately and fell off the bed, pulling the uncoordinated insomniac down with him. They landed in a heap of arms, legs, and sheets.

Ryuzaki was the first to recover.

“Light-kun, what’s going on?”

“Spider. Above me. Oh s**t.” A deep, calming breath. “Where is the security around here, Ryuzaki!”

“I don’t screen insects.”

“They’re not insects,” Light said vehemently. “They have two too many legs and no distinct thorax.”

“...Is that a spider in your hair, Light-kun?”

“You sadistic b*****d, you think this is funny! Get it off, get it off, get it OFF!”
The dark-haired man's lip quirked upwards as the other frantically raked his hands through his hair.

Served Light right for making fun of his nightlight.
