Ch. 2... Part 1
IChapter 2

It felt like he was moving backward and forward in time simultaneously. He felt completely disconnected and realized he was senseless. Standing nowhere, beside nothing. Any amount of time may have slipped by and he had no way of telling for time is dead in portals, How long has it been? Minutes? Days? Weeks? Years? Seconds?

Slowly he felt his senses came back to him, the first was the sense of touch. He could feel cool grass, a cotton-Soft breeze blowing around him, the heat of the sun beating down on him in pleasant warmth. His shirt, warm against his chest. Sweet aromas washed over him like the lapping of the tide. They were familiar, yet strange scents. He could taste something sweet and wet with every breath. Then he got his sight back. It, at first, was devastatingly bright, then his eyes adjusted and he saw the surreal landscape. It was if he stepped into a watercolor painting, he could barely see the sky through the branches and the Trunk of the tree. The details were more abstract and generalizing and everything was lightly colored. The leaves appeared feathery, light, puffy, and soft. “Well that’s a trip.” Krass stated. He was laying down, looking up at the graded wash that was the sky. Whrgh… Now, How did I get here again? Krass thought back and remembered the events of yesterday. Oh right, the portal thing. There was a long silence and a gentle breeze. A shape blackened against the sun loomed over him enshrouding him in dark. “Hello?”
“Get up” The figure demanded. The figure bent over, grabbed him by his shirt and put him upright with a yank.
“You.” It was the thing from yesterday. Perhaps Today.
“Me.”
“You have much too learn. You need to accomplish much. But first,” The demon stated in all seriousness, “You must know why we fight.”
“Alright, I’m all ears.”
“Now, very long ago, there was nothing. Then There was God. Despite what the bible says, he’s not as perfect as one would think. You should thank whatever you believe in that he isn’t, or you wouldn’t be here.”
“Why not?”
“If he was perfect he wouldn’t need anything else, and, if he was perfect, it’d be impossible to make anything imperfect or else he’s not perfect.”
“Ah, that… makes sense. I guess.”
“Anyways, as I was saying God was there in the endless nothingness alone. So he made Angels and counter-parts for the Angels, Demons. For every Angel, there is a corresponding, opposite, Demon. Now remember how I told you God is a sadist? Well, the Angel-Demon pairs were doomed to fight until one died.”
“That is seriously ******** up."
