“By another realm you mean like an alternate reality?”
“Something like that.”
“So, by ‘before this one’ you mean…”
“That this was made before your ‘Earth Realm’.”
“How many realms are there?”
“No one knows, and those who could, just don’t bother.”
“So…”
“What?”
“How much time do we have?”
“If you mean until the fight, I do not know. There are some scrimmages though. First ones in week. To measure initial skill.”
“So I have to fight my best friend in a week?”
“Yes.”
“So when do we begin training?”
“After the fight.”
“Then why did we have to leave so soon.”
“… I’m not allowed to tell. That aside, I wanted to show you around. I’m not allowed to train you, so I thought some sight-seeing was in order. It’d do you good to see the other races in this ‘Winner-take-all’ fight.”
“Other races? Like aliens?”
“Here, you’re the ‘alien’.”
“Eh, figures. Hey, what about languages?”
“You should catch on rather quickly.”
“Meh, So where to?
“There is a village not too far from here, about a six hours on foot.”
“Oh, really.”
“It may be quite a shock to you, the appearance of the inhabitants of this land.”
“How so?”
“Well… Lets say God had some fun with this one. Well we best get going, the sooner the better.” The walk through the surreal environment was long and entirely uneventful, aside from occasion strange dull pulsating, which, as Chronos explained, was Kordal‘s heartbeat. “Really? The planet has a heartbeat?”
“I told you he got creative.” Chronos smiled. “This place is full of surprises.” The rest of the way exploded the boundaries of Krass’ mind. The new scents, the strange sounds, the wondrous sights, the cool playful breeze blowing softly through his hair. When they reached the village Krass blinked hard, I must be hallucinating.
