Star Force 3 Noise Form
Noise Forms are the new forms introduced in Megaman Star Force 3. I disagree with the FAQ posted on GameFAQs so I have put this here as a symbol of my rage.

1. Noise explanation
------------------------------

I'm not going to give you the story equivelent of what Noise is. Instead I'm going to tell you how it actually applies to you. You gain a program in the story from Ace called the Ace/Joker Program, depending on your version. Once this is installed, a noise gauge will appear in the top right corner of the top screen during battle. When you first start, it will of course be zero. Now, you have to build it.

Noise is built depending on what kind of battle there is. If you are in a virus battle, it is built by how much damage you overkill an enemy with a normal card. The same example everyone uses, Sword does 80 damage. Use it one an enemy with 40 health and you will build 40 Noise. 80 - 40 = 40. In a Boss battle, Noise is built by half the damage you deal with non elemental cards. Use sword on a Boss and you will get 40 Noise. 80 / 2 = 40. I have only fought in one Net Battle where I was butchered quickly so I do not now how Noise is built in that setting. What does this come down to? Simple. No matter what Noise form you are using, you will need normal cards in your folder.

Noise has a few other factors to it. Your Noise will not drop until you pass 50. once you do, your Noise will steadily drop until it reaches 50. 50 Noise is how much is required for your Noise Form to go Vibrant, which shall be explained later. Upon reaching 200 Noise, you can Finalize your Noise which will change you into either Black Ace, or Red Joker depending on your version. Your Noise will also be dropped to 0. If you finish a battle with more than 100 Noise, you will start the next one with 50. Finish with less than 100 Noise and you will start the next battle with 0.

Noise is also how you acquire Illegal Data.Any time you finish a battle with more than 100 Noise, you have a chance of getting Illegal Data, though the higher the Noise the more likely you will get one. Illegal data are cards that you get that are not displayed in the library and have a teal-ish name. They are usually cards from the previous Star Force games, though there are a large amount of new ones. Illegal data also consists of alternate Mega, and in Jack Corvus and Queen Virgo's case Giga, cards for the bosses in the game. Example, the regular Mega card of SpadeMagnes is just SpadeMagnes, while the Illegal version is Rocket Lauch that function completely differently. Illegal data cards also have a fourth level to them, level X. Examples would be like BushidoX. These cards are simply more stronger versions of the regular cards that you can only acquire through Illegal Data. You also have a chance of getting a Noise Frag ( Sound familiar?) for getting over 100 Noise.

S-Rank a battle with over 200 Noise and you will get two different sets of data. S-Rank a battle with over 300 Noise and you will get three different sets of data. Having the ZennyFinder or CardFinder equipped will nullify Illegal Data and Noise Frags letting you build Noise without having to worry about missing an important card or never getting cash. The stronger the opponent, the better the Illegal Data will be. Illegal Data from a Mettenna does not compare to Illegal Data from an R boss in the least.

2. Noise forms
----------------------

Noise forms are where things get really interesting. There are 10 normal Noise forms, and 2 version specific ones. Your Noise form will normally be just Megaman with different armor, but when you get over 50 Noise his color will change and you will enter Vibrant Noise. Your Element will then change and you will gain more abilities than you normally could. Getting hit with your weakness will do double damage and force you back to 0 Noise. Every 250 battles your Noise form will create a program you can use, but will only make it once. It seems more to me like a percentage based thing, and once you hit 250 your pretty much guaranteed it, since I got both of Gemini Noises abilities within 15 battles of each other, but I ahve yet to confirm if its true. You can turn off your Noise form by removing the Ace/Joker Program.

You gain your first Noise form through the story. After that you have a chance to get another Noise form every time you enter a WARNING battle with giant viruses. After you beat the main story, a Noise wave being will appear in AstroWave1 who will change you back to your previous Noise form. Be warned, if you happen to like the two Noise forms you have (I know I do), then it is suggested that you run away from giant virus fights when you have the Ace/Joker Program equipped. Even if you refuse the Noise form afterwords, the Noise wave being will forget what your previous Noise was, bringing you to only one Noise again. Countering while in Vibrant Noise will give you a Noise Force Big Bang (NFB). These are pretty powerful cards to say the least.

You can get any of these Noise forms in either version, but the first 5 are easier to obtain in Black Ace while the last 5 are easier to obtain in Red Joker.

And no, how you fight has NOTHING to do with how you get a Noise form. At all. I went through 30 battles using only fire cards as a Gemini Noise and was only offered Ophiuchus Noise. Fire != Wood. Like at all.

The next to Noise forms are specific to which version of the game you are playing. They are refered to as Finalized Noise forms, and are accessible by getting your Noise to over 200. Once you access them, you will get a new folder, usually filled with Illegal Data cards. It is suggested that some of the higher level folders have themes, but I have yet to find out.

Noise Name: Black Ace
Abilities: Buster MAX, no Charge Shot, no element or weakness, locked-On cards have double damage (inclusive of Auto Lock-On), Airshoes and Floatshoes, Auto Lock-On, Quick Gauge
NFB: Black End Galaxy

Noise Name: Red Joker

NFB: Black End Galaxy

This last Noise is on its own because of it being special. You must not have any of the real life Brothers in order to get this Noise. You also cannot have any Opponent Noise. You also cannot get this Noise form back from the Noise wave being in AstroWave1.

Noise Name: Rogue Noise (Burai Noise)
Normal abilities: Mu Barrier that regenerates after a few steps. (Break type attacks will destroy the barrier permanently), non-dimming Sword cards +50 attack

Charge Shot: Remains unchanged but has doubled attack strength
NFB: None
Abilities: Reflect/50, First Aura/400

To be updated when I feel like it.
