Every Leaf Jonin was given a Bingo Book by the Hokage at the time. The time I'm referring to was the day the Sand launched it's attack on the leaf. Tonbo, being blind, had no need for his. Not to mention, he was a chuunin and the only reason he had one was because he grabbed up Hayate's. Tonbo had left to fight off the invasion and told me to stay hidden. I knew that it wasn't safe in his small house in the Leaf Village, so I grabbed his Bingo Book, packed a few pouches of tools lying around: about twenty kunai, a few dozen shuriken, some military rations pills that I had made the night before. Tonbo always burned the hyorogan, until he had me to tell him that they were burning. I grabbed a spare cloak of his and headed out.

Sand Ninja were coming from every direction, but by hiding in the shadows, I thought I would be able to avoid the most of them. Unfortunately, I was wrong. As three sand ninja dashed above my head on the buildings' rooftops, I sensed a presence from behind. I had no time to draw a weapon, so I tried using the almighty techniques relying on physical strength. Taijutsu was one of my weak points, but it would have to do, at least to buy me some time.

He brought his arms around in a position to grab me, but as they closed in, I grabbed for his wrists. I was able to use his body as leverage to push off of so I could become temporarily airborne. It must have caught him off-guard, because all he could do was grab at my cloak, which was then removed. I became exposed, face and all to the leaf and sand ninja in the village. Fortunately for me, no one except my attacker had seen me. I made my way towards the village end. Sneaking through the trees, I was able to safely make my way out of the Leaf Village, where I knew I couldn't be stalked.

I had met with the Third before. He made often stops to Tonbo's house to tell me how important it was to keep me hidden. Each time, he would tell me something more. The only thing that really stuck with me though was that the man that had invaded the village, wanted me..that's why I knew it was in my best interest to run.

Arashi, You must remember this, and remember it well. The man named Orochimaru wants to make this village his own for many reasons. One of those is to find you. You see you were placed in this village by that very man. What we didn't know is that he was a madman. He altered you. You were one of his failed experiments.

The Third's speeches echoed through my head that day. It was all I could think about. One of the Leaf's greatest ninja was coming back to take over the village. Most importantly that one of his reasons for coming back was me. I didn't even know why. Orochimaru was after me, a ninja that only a small handfull of people even knew of.

I needed a place to go. Bloody Mist Village was probably not the best place to go. It had too many ties to the man that was after me. Akatsuki had the largest ties to the Mist, and in the Bingo Book, Orochimaru was listed as a member. The Stone village and the Leaf never got along too well to begin with, and I never knew where the Land of Whirlpools was. Then I though, I could go to the Sand, since their strongest ninja were already at the Leaf. If I could get there long enough to gather information on the attack, I could maybe learn some information on Orochimaru and why he wants me.
