Mi Vida Reborn
Just some random stuff in my mind. May have random fanfics, adult language, high levels of sarcasm, and themes not suitable for those who are young and/or sane. You have been warned
With You (Part 1 Chapter 4)
I never knew that church could be so tiring. Expect the next chapter to be a bit late tomorrow too, since I work tomorrow and those three hours I'm out they work me hard.

So notes: This chapter is probably going to leave a "What the ********" feeling even to those who played PSU. I honestly wasn't thinking at the time and just wanted to give an excuse for Ami and Hyuga to be on a mission together. I'm thinking of a supplement piece that will probably explain why it was important (though not necessarily important) Read first two chapters for disclaimer.

Chapter 4

"He said he should be coming back today." Ami said. She and Kyoh were in the main Guardians Branch, located in the Colony. Ami had her hair into a ponytail. Kyoh was quietly strumming his fingers on the table. "Maybe he got held up at Neudaiz?" She shook her head. "No, that can't be it. At least he would tell us first. Like the last time." "Yeah. He said that the mission would have last another week at the most." Then they were silent again. "So how has your workload been? We haven't seen each other like this since the ceremony." Ami closed her eyes. "It was simple tasks. I've been on the Colony most of the time. You?" Kyoh looked away. "I've been on Matoob, investigating the current actions of the rogues there." Then he sighed. Suddenly the door opened.

"My darling students! Did you miss Papa?" Emil burst through the door to hug the both of them. "Since when did we call you Papa?" Ami asked. Kyoh was just silent. As soon as Emil was finished, he looked at them. "You two just look stronger. Have you two been good." "Yes, we have." Kyoh replied. "Of course." Then Ami smirked. "Emil." Emil was about to bring out his harisen. "Wait! You said that if we got our Guardians license, then we can call you by your name." Both Ami and Kyoh pulled out their licenses. Emil then looked at them again, but a little more seriously. "Why yes, you're right. You two are now officially Guardians. I just have to start thinking of you two as comrades than my students." He eased into a smile. "It just gets harder from here you know. I'm sure you've already experienced it." They nodded. "Especially since our skills are different, we are on missions seperately." Emil went over to the table and put two weapons there. One was twin daggers and the other was twin sabers. Ami and Kyoh went to examine them. The twin daggers had photon blades that looked very similar to wings while the twin sabers were red and looked to have flames radiating from them. "What are these?" Kyoh asked. "My gifts for you two. Just to help you on your missions. They are both S-ranked weapons so you can't use them right now. You need some more experience before then." Ami looked at her weapon. "I don't know what to say." Emil placed his hands on top of their heads. "Just don't do anything reckless so that they break. They are pretty expensive."

A couple weeks later, Ami was walking around the Colony. Soon her comm-terminal activated. "Yes?" On the other line was Emil. "Ami, can you come up to the Guardian's branch. There's a new mission for you." Ami nodded. "I'll be on my way."

Within a few moments Ami was in one of the meeting rooms. Soon Emil came in. "Ah you're here. Lets get started then. We're going to investigate a Relic site." "I thought we already figured out about the Relics." Emil shook his head. "That may be true. This mission will also serve to ambush the Endrum Collective. The leads Intelligence's been going on is leading to them." Ami stood up. "Alright, I understand." Emil smiled. "Good, there will be two others coming with us. Another Guardian and the researcher. She specialized in A-photons as well as the history of the Relics. Having her around will surely benefit us." Then he sighed. "If we can get past that attitude of her." Ami looked at Emil, with her head slightly cocked to the side. He shook his head. "Nevermind, they are waiting for us at the site."

Ami and Emil had just went inside the Relics site. Two figures were waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs. Ami's eyes widened at the Guardian there. "Hyuga? What are you doing here?" He turned towards her. "I've been assigned to this mission. I didn't know that you're assigned here too." Emil added, "It turns out that Hyuga has been in a Relics site during his field training." The woman coughed, to get everyone's attention. Emil just sighed again. Ami looked at her. She was a slender woman. Her hair was the same shade as Emil's, only longer and maybe a deeper red. She had it in a pony tail. She wore black glasses, which were in front of her dark brown eyes. Soon it hit that the woman looked just Emil. "And this is Emelia. She's mainly specializes in Relics history but has a minor in A-photon research. Unfortunately, she is also my elder twin sister." Emelia pouted. "Is that anyway to talk to me?" Emil walked past. "If you acted your age, then maybe I would." Ami was astonished, Emelia looked young for her age. Emelia took notice to Ami. She went up to her and looked at her. "So this is your precious student? Hmmm, you don't look the type to be in Mobile Defense. If you ever think about changing-" "I don't plan on quitting the Guardians thanks." Ami cut her off. Emelia smiled. "Alright, let's get going. We have quite a ways."

As the four were walking, Ami looked around her. Hyuga slowed down a little so that he would be walking beside her. "Interested?" Ami shook her head. "Not really, just that I wonder about this place." "How have you been?" Ami was taked aback by the question. "I'm fine. Been mainly on the Colony. You?" Hyuga rubbed the back of his white hair. "Nothing really worth noting." Emelia quietly took notice to Ami's and Hyuga's interactions. "Young love is a beautiful thing, isn't it Emil?" Emil sighed. "That's just you. Ami's too driven to be with that stuff." There was a cough. Emil and Emelia turned around to see Ami and Hyuga staring at them. "I'm right here you know." Ami said, her face red. Emil placed his hand on Ami's shoulder. "I apologize, this isn't very professional behavior. I will drop it." Ami nodded. "Thank you." As Emil and his sister began walking again Ami looked at Hyuga. "Am I really too driven?" "It's not a bad thing. You shouldn't let it bother you." he assured her. "Thanks. I won't. But hey, do you remember what Kyoh had told you that day?" "Hmm?" Emil noticed them two talking. "Come on you two! You don't want to get left behind!" "Coming!" they both said. "After the mission Ami?" Hyuga asked. "Uh yeah."

Soon, the group made it to the heart of the Relics. Emelia immediately started to examine the place. Emil looked around as well. "It's best that we be careful here." Hyuga noted, "We may face a Svaltus or two here." Ami kept her gun ready. "This isn't it..." Emelia said. She stood up. "What isn't?" Emil said. "The gates. This Relic isn't one of them. And because of that, No Endrum as well." The ground shook beneath them. Hyuga brandish his saber. "It's one of them. Be on guard." Just as he said that, a Svaltus moved from the case it was in. Then another and another. "Three?" Ami said while taking out her gun. "No!" Emil said, "Ami, take Emelia back to the surface. Hyuga and I will stall for time." Emil had his sword out and was attacking one of the enemies. "But-" "No buts, she has to come back alive." Ami nodded. "I understand. But don't die on me Instructor!" Ami took Emelia's hand and began to run out of the area.

As they ran, there were a few enemies impeding their progress. Ami took care of the ones that mattered. They soon had reached an area in which there was no enemies. They sat and took a rest. "Are you okay, Miss Emelia?" she asked. Emelia nodded. "Yes, thank you." "I hope they are okay." Ami said to herself. Emelia stood up. "So it is young love." Ami's face became red. "W-w-what are you talking about?!" She looked away from Emelia. Emelia just continued to smile. "Even in times like these, it's nice to see that love is blossoming." Then Ami was the one to stand up. "No! It isn't like that at all. Ryght's just a friend, and a comrade. That's all." She started to walk ahead. "I still have to get you out of here." Soon, she pressed a button on her commlink and map appeared. "According to this, we should be on our way out."

It was a few minutes later when Emelia and Ami made it to the entrance of the Relic. "We'll be out of there in no time." Ami said. Soon, her commlink began to beep. "Ami? How's your progress?" "Instructor! I'm fine, we're almost at the exit. How are you and Hyuga holding up?" "We didn't die," Hyuga interrupted, "But one Svaltus got away from us. That one is probably going after you two." As he said that, the ground shook. Ami got out her pike. "I think it's here already." "Ami! Try to avoid combat with it. Hyuga and I will get there as soon as-" Ami shut off her link. "It'll be impossible with it blocking the exit. Miss Emelia, go back to the next area. I won't be able to assure your safety if you stay here." Emelia smiled to herself. 'She really is driven. Now I see why he has so much faith in her.' She nodded. "Alright, but please take this." She put a small caspule in her hands. "It's an Agtaride. So that you don't waste time trying to do Shifta." Ami nodded as she swallowed the caspule. Once Emelia went into the next room, Ami switched from her pike to her gun. She began to fire at it while moving back. The Svaltus appeared to not be affected by the shots. Ami immediately switched back to the pike. "Seems like guns have little effect on you." She ran in and used Dus Daggas on it. The Svaltus counted by spinning it's sword in a circular motion at Ami. She got hit with the backlash of it and hit the floor while rolling. Once she got up, Ami suddenly felt weaker. 'I didn't know that it could cause status changes. I'll need to be careful, my defense is lowered.'

She gripped on the pike tighter. The Svaltus swung it's sword again in a downward motion. She managed to avoid the attack and hit with her own attack. But since she attacked from the front, the attack did no damage. "And a shield in the front? This is tough." Ami ran to the back and did a Dus Dagas on it. It had more success than her previous attempts. But she got hit again by the circular attack. Her back hit hard against the stairs, causing her to tumble down faster to the floor. She took out another caspule and swallowed it. This one was a dimate. She got back up. She held her left arm. Ami switched to her gun again and started to run to it's back. She began firing at it again. It was a better outcome than the first time, but it still did mininum damage. The Svaltus turned around quickly and did a slash at her chest. While it didn't it her, the backlash from pushed Ami back, making her hit a column. She fell face first to the ground. "Damn, a critical hit as well?" She tried to get up, but her body wasn't cooperating with her mind. She heaved a sigh. "I should have listened to Instructor."

"Ami!" shouted Emil. He and Hyuga had finally reached to where Ami was. "Hyuga, you can finish it off right?" He nodded and went to the Svaltus while Emil ran to Ami. "Ami! Speak to me." She looked up. "That thing, really is tough." she said with a smirk. Emil helped her up. Ami switched from her gun to a one-handed staff and casted Resta on herself. "Why did you fight it? I told you not to!" he scolded. By that time, Hyuga was coming back to the group. "It was blocking the exit, I couldn't run away." "That's still no excuse! You should have stayed in a safe area until Hyuga and I arrived. You're still a novice Guardian. If you were to die now, then how will Emelia be safe until he and I showed up?" Ami looked down. "It's alright really," Hyuga interrupted politely, "for her first time against it she did a good job. About half of it's health was already down when we came here." Emil still had a scowl on his face. "Ami, take this as a lesson. When I give you an order, follow it no matter what. I don't do it for my own health. As your former instructor, I know when something is too much for you." Emelia came and put Emil in a hold. "Cut it out Emil! She's safe, I'm safe. So drop it, or I'll drop you." Emil struggled to get out of the hold. "Alright! Alright! Let's just leave." Emil and Emelia were walking together while Hyuga and Ami were doing the same. "Hey Ami." he said. She turned to him. She was still sad over the scolding she had gotten. "Don't let it get to you. It's all a part of growing. Here." Hyuga placed an item in her hands. "It's a Svaltus Edge. Use it to make a Svaltus Sword." Ami looked at him. "But I don't use swords, too bulky." "If that's the case, make it as an apology gift for Instructor Emil."

The ride back to the colony was a quiet one. When they landed, Emil started to go to the Guardian's Headquarters. "I'm going to go file the report, you get some rest." Ami nodded. Emelia started to go her way. "Thank you so much for today Ami, Hyuga. Ami, Emil was too harsh." Soon, she left as well. It was silent for a while between them. "Thanks for today." Ami finally said, "But Instructor was right. I should have listened to him. I almost got killed today because I thought I could handle it." Hyuga put his hands on her shoulders. "Don't beat yourself up for it. You realized what you did, so you grew a little. And I wasn't lying when I said you had it's health half way diminished when we got there." Ami nodded. "Thanks. You're a good friend." "If only Ethan would take a page from you." He muttered. This made the both of them laugh. "So what did you want to talk about anyway?" Ami's face became red at the mention. "Well, it's about what-" Before she finished, Emil approached the two. "Hyuga, Headmaster just called for you in the President's office." "Oh, okay." Then he turned to Ami. "Another mission so quickly? We'll sit down and talk after my mission okay?" Ami nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine with that." As he walked away, Emil approached her. "And I have a new mission for you too. We're going to Moatoob."

Yep I included twins. Now that I think about it, Emelia is like Maya, without the figure. She's going to be very important to Ami on an emotional level as we go along. Two more chapters to go.

Next Chapter: Unification point and Ami's questioning of her feelings.
