Few day's prior to this whole mess....

Heero yawn so largely part of the team he was on thought he could fit a melon in there, so they put a grapefruit as far as they could. Gagging he spit it out "What the hell?!" They all laughed at him bent over breathing heavily as if he took one to the chest. "You got a big mouth bruda." "Yeah well shut up I hear a pineapple is about to be ran over go find it Toto." More laughter as the massive Samoan got up laughing and walked off to the head. "Why is he here anyways, isn't he afraid he's going to loose his tan?" even more laughter "Oh shut up Heero, you'll pop a staple." Trowa laughed as he sat down at a desk by his friend. His own face scarred a bit, but his thickest and most wicked one was straight across his neck. How he survived no one knew. Heero said it was because he was too dumb to know how to die.

Getting up Heero headed off to the head also to check his face out. The team laughed as the large Samoan roared in laughter and the large Asian was cussing him out in Japanese. "********..." he went to the mirror and picked at the staples that were going down the right side of his face a bit. A muffled but chorus of "STOP PICKING AT THEM" rang out. "yeah yeah..." quietly as he let them be but looked at his face. "Eh. not so bad...at least I'm not Shu Yin with a bugger eye." Just then there was a flush. In his head 'oh s**t....' Shu Yin came out and washed his hands quietly then walked out. What he didn't know is Shu smiled and gave everyone a thumbs up while all Heero heard was more laughter. "And I was had again." sighing and shaking his head he had to laugh and come out greeted with a volley of paper wads to his body "NOT THE FACE!" "Heaven forbid we muck up that pretty little face of yours now right?" Heero just blinked and they laughed.

Shu Yin was good natured about his scar, they all had them, Heero was now initiated into the group with his new one. However, Shu Yin's was a bit different, they hit his eye and made it look almost slitted like a snake's eye. But they drug their knife down his cheek, across his lips and tried to go for his throat, but it was actually Heero that got there in time to save him. Heero literally had to hold the two pieces of face together till the medics could get there so Shu Yin didn't loose what he had. He was grateful to Heero, he loved his job. Where else could he either go in street clothes and legally kick some a**, or go in a wicked tactical clothes and still kick some serious a**? But there was a drawback to all this.

Getting up from the antics they were giving Heero he laughed and waved them off as he headed to his desk. "Where you going?" A calm voice quietly demanded that he turn around. Stopping "Jesus, I'm going to my desk, is that okay? Do I have your permission?" "Don't give me that. I know what day it is, do I need to take your phone away?" Turning angry "DO NOT THINK FOR ONE ******** SECOND, CHANG WU FEI THAT YOU CAN ORDER MY PERSONAL BUSINESS AROUND, I DO NOT GIVE A DAM IF YOU ARE THE COMMANDER OF THIS TEAM OR NOT, YOU ARE NOTHING TO ME!" Turning on his heels he stormed off, leaving his stunned team behind, except two. Duo walked up and put a strong hand on the Chinese man's shoulder. "I know Duo, I know." "Just like every year...let him do it, he knows what he's doing."

Shu Yin kicked his desk hard and flopped down in the chair. His eye dangerously think as a slit, his whole face furrowed in anger. It always pissed him off that Wu Fei actually thought that he would compromise his status. He wasn't a rookie anymore, hasn't been for years now. The nerve. He just didn't realize how much of a hot head he really was. Just because he transferred to Florida years before she did because he knew she would be there, nor did him going back to Colorado literally every moment he had off didn't mean he was obsessed. Just WAAAAAYYYY too over protective of his little sister who thought he was dead. Who didn't even know him. Even his team had no idea what was going on, other then Wu Fei and Duo.

Like every year when Adara opened her mailbox there was an envelope with her name typed on it. "How....personal?" walking in she sat down and opened it quietly "You think I would get used to this" When a large denomination of money came tumbling out with a small typed note. "Buy yourself something pretty, please." Before it was "Pay your bills now." It kinda freaked her out but she was so much in the hole with school that she just used the money thanking the air. Now she did what the note told her to do.

Another tradition she would get a phone call, untraceable and breathing on the end. For the first couple years Shu Yin would get off the phone with tears in his eyes as she would b***h out whoever it was, hating them for tying her up. But one year, this year was different. "Hello?" "..." "Hello!" "..." she screamed as hard and as long as she could which made him yank the phone away from his ear with a smile. 'still defiant.' he thought as he brought it back to his other ear.

"Sorry I shouldn't have done that." With a sniffle that made him stiffen up. Thank the gods he was at home when he finally decided to call her. "I'm just so lonely here." She coughed out a small cry that made tears fall from the older sibling's eyes. He wanted to hold her at this moment so tightly but couldn't, he wanted to talk to her, but couldn't. He was actually thinking of hanging up on her for once but decided to listen.

"I'm good at what I do, I make good money and travel a lot and all but...I'm so alone. I don't really have friends here and I don't really care about anyone here, vice versa on that too..." He so badly wanted to scream at her that she was wrong, that he cared but just listened. "But I guess I'm wrong about that now huh? I got you, who ever you are. You call me every year on my birthday, the same time, the same way. Every year I scream and cuss at you only to finally hang up on you for you to repeat it again the next year...I always wondered why but then I figured it out." Shu Yin panicked. Bad, how did she know. This time he hung up on her not ever hearing her next words. She quickly drew a breath in hearing CLICK! then slowly let the phone drop while looking at it. The call had ended. "That....you were....as lonely as I am....." Pulling her knees to her chest she buried her face in her knees and cried till the next morning which she decided to go see her parents.

Shu Yin watched her get on the plane to fly off and realized she didn't know who he was really. Kicking himself he thought about getting on the next plane but his phone went off. "I'm coming." When Wu Fei got off he gave Duo a look. "Not good, not good at all...." The team waited for him, briefed and headed off as they needed the rough necker.

Eventually a few days later Shu Yin got pulled aside into the glass office of Wu Fei's. It was sound and bullet proof but the team was watching so they could laugh when he got in trouble or given time off. Shu Yin was always so funny to watch going up against Jesus. However, all their faces dropped when Shu Yin fell on his a**, Wu Fei rushing to his aid. He just got the news he always fought so hard to keep from hearing as if he knew it was coming....His sister was MIA.
