we can't, we aren't
though it feels like we are.
my heart starts to bleed,
time for a new scar.

letting go of you,
is the hardest on me.
its better off this way,
we two can never be.

your love is overshadowing,
any of the faults.
keeping our hearts together,
locked up in the vaults.

i said i'd never do,
i swore there'd be no way.
but when you say you love me,
my heart begins to sway.

dancing to you're lyrics,
you lift and crush me with your songs.
our friends push us together,
saying our love is not wrong.

i pushed you away and gone,
hoping you'd find another one.
but when i'm here without you,
i'm crushed lifeless and numb.

i want you to be happy,
to have the things i'm not.
praying she is good to you,
while i give up what i've got.

life is but a journey,
lasting mere minutes or hours.
