Dyer's Eve: Change
Somewhere in Scandinavia

A viking village sits quietly next to a crystal blue lake. It residents are going about the chores of daily life. Fishermen were cleaning their latest catch. Raiders, Berserker's and Marauders were sharpening weapons or repairing armor. Some children could be seen here and there playing in various groups. Just outside the village a fire burned with a group of warriors sitting around it. Among them was Kage and Marcus. Kage was sitting with both arms resting on his knees, letting his hands dangle in front of him. His head was tilted forward slightly and his stone gaze was fixated on the fire. Marcus was in the middle of taking a long drink from a wooden mug. The taste of fresh mead was more than refreshing to him. As he lowered the mug, the large man looked over the fire at the leader of this viking village. "It's good. Damn good. You know how to brew a good drink."

"Aye, A recipe that's been kept for several generations."
The man said in a gruff voice. He had a full beard kept neatly trimmed along his jaw and his brown hair hung to his shoulders. "Don't tell me it was the mead that made your decision?" One of the vikings said with a chuckle. "No my friend, haha, its not the drink that made my mind. It is the brotherhood. For too long we've traveled alone and without our brothers. I want to be more then just a mercenary." Marcus answered confidently. "And what say you, Kage?" The leader asked with a subtle gesture towards the platinum haired warrior.

Marcus and the others turned their attention too him waiting patiently to hear what his answer would be. "I share the same thought...However...The codes of your order contradict all I've done and everything I do. I have forsaken all gods and done nothing but slaughter. You stand for truth, justice and a greater good...I stand for the destruction of life." The group listened carefully. One viking turned his focus to his drink, fearing Kage would reject their invitation. "It is a hallow existence. For nearly 300 years I've killed for no reason other then bringing death fresh souls...I seek purpose in it all." He said solemnly as he slowly turned his gaze the leader. "I would fight for a cause...But all I know is destruction...My soul is blackened as is my blood. I am undeserving." He spoke with a desire to align himself with them but didn't know how too justify it. Nor did he understand their mindset and the only magiks he new as a sorcery were those that brought death and darkness.

An older looking man in a grey robe walked up to them hearing Kage's words. He looked at Kage as he approached with his arms held across his waist and each hand in the opposite sleeve and attracting Kage's gaze. "Kage, it is within you to know what it is you seek. You aren't meant for one cause and I know who can set you on your way." He said calmly. Kage looked deeper into the hood and into the mans eye's. After a moment of silence Kage stood and faced the man. The three warriors and Marcus sat still watching the two. "Then I would seek them out before I join you." He said boldly bringing a smile to the smile to the old mans face. "Your father would be proud." He said calmly. Kage's eyes looked with slight confusion and shock as he stared back at the man. "How would you know of my father?" He said grimly as the mans smile faded. "In due time. Seek out the Atlanteons. The city of Atlantis lay on an island south of Greece. Find it and seek the aid of its people, they shall guide you too your path." Kage stood silently listening closely to what the man had to say. "The Atlanteons have long been allies of The Hands of Fate. They're civilization has far advanced and they openly share the knowledge with us." Kage knew what he had to do. He nodded and and walked away from the fire to gather his possessions.

"So...He will be joining us...And you still don't think its a mistake?" The Viking leader questioned the old wizard. "No. Myself and the rest of the counsel agree. It's in his blood. His path is with us. The Fates have shown us this." Content with the answer the stern leader looked in the direction Kage had walked away in too see him starting away from the village to start his next journey. "He doesn't say 'Farewell' to his brother's...why?" One warrior said looking towards Marcus. "His never had anyone to say 'farewell' too. So his never had a reason to do so." He said solemnly taking another drink from his mug and watching his long time friend and ally getting farther away heading towards the legendary city of Atlantis.
