"Aw, will you give it a rest Kagome?”

Groan.

"Tsk. You're hopeless.”

"You're not helping, you know!”

It was a long day at school, and Kagome, feeling burned out, was riding on InuYasha's back. Apparently, she had another test today, and obviously didn't do so well.

"Why don't you just challenge this guy again?” said InuYasha.

Kagome, feeling too depressed to figure out what he was talking about, said “What are you talking about?”

"You know, the demon named 'Geography Test'.”

Kagome hung her head. “I forgot you don't know what that means...”

"You're really depressing, you know,” said InuYasha. Kagome hung her head even lower. "Gee, thanks."

"Hey, what's that?” InuYasha said. “Wait a minute... I smell blood!”

Kagome rose from her stupor and looked up to see what was going on.

"It's coming...” InuYasha continued, “from your house!”

"What?” Kagome said in shock. “Oh no! Did someone get hurt? Mom? Sota?”

"Let's go!” said InuYasha, and he leapt off towards the Higurashi shrine. When they arrived there, they saw a whole bunch of people gathered at the foot of the stairs, looking up at the top. InuYasha landed behind the group of people and Kagome leapt off his back. They both rushed to the closest person they laid hands on, which was a boy who was wearing the school uniform of Kagome's school.

"What happened here?” asked Kagome. “Is someone hurt?”

The boy turned around and saw Kagome. “Do you live here?”

"Yeah, why?”

"I think I just saw your twin walking up the stairs,” the boy responded. “He looked in pretty bad shape, bleeding all over the ground and all.”

InuYasha leapt up the stairs, while Kagome was trying to register everything that the boy had just said.

Twin? Since when do I have a twin?

Meanwhile, InuYasha followed the scent of blood with his nose. Sota, Kagome's little brother, was running around the corner of the house, looking frightened. He saw InuYasha and looked relieved.

"INUYASHA! HELP!” He yelled, running to him. “There's some stranger with blood all over him! He walked into the shrine out back!”

"Thanks Sota!” said InuYasha, and he leapt across the house to the back, where the shrine was located. He's right. The trail of blood definitely leads to the well...

When he landed, he saw a foot disappear behind the sliding doors. “Hey! Wait! What are you doin'!? Get back here!” InuYasha ran inside, only to see the stranger standing at the edge of the well that sat in the middle of the shrine. Everyone was right about the bloody part. His white haori was covered with it. InuYasha also saw what looked like a piercing in the guy's back. He looked like he was wounded badly.

"What are you doin'? You tryin' to commit suicide or sumthin'? Or did someone else do that to ya?”

The stranger didn't respond.

"Hey! Answer me!”

InuYasha saw the stranger sway a bit. He began to fall forward.

"Oh no!” gasped InuYasha, and he grabbed his haori as he began to fall. He was straining to keep a grip on the piece of clothing because of all the blood that was on it. Dammit, he's slipping! Ergh...

All of a sudden, the stranger's hands began to move. They were shaking, as if he was writhing in pain. Then, his face rose to meet InuYasha's. His eyes glowed electric blue. There looked like he had coughed up some blood. He looked blank. It was at this moment that InuYasha began to realize that he had looked familiar, but he couldn't tell why...

"InuYasha!" yelled Kagome's voice from outside. The stranger let out a loud screech and clawed at InuYasha's hand. InuYasha let out a howl of pain and let go of the stranger's haori.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!” yelled InuYasha, grasping his bleeding hand as Kagome ran inside. “THAT DAMN b*****d! HE CLAWED AT ME!”

Kagome looked at it and let out a gasp of shock. “How did that happen? And where is the guy?”

InuYasha, now realizing that he had let go, looked into the well. “Uh... when he clawed me, I sorta let go...”

"InuYasha!” yelled Kagome in shock.

"What? You would have done the same thing if you were gettin' your skin peeled by some freak!”

"Still, I don't see him,” said Kagome, looking down the well. “You don't think...”

"That he was able to go to the other side? But I thought we were the only ones who could use the well...”

"Me too... let's go look and see.”

With that, Kagome jumped down the well.

"Uh, hello,” yelled InuYasha down the well. “My hand is still bleeding here! Can we worry about me for a sec?! Man, what a pain, you are!”

InuYasha followed Kagome and the stranger down the well. The well had a magical power that allowed them to go back 500 years, into Japan's feudal era.

Meanwhile, Sota looked on as InuYasha disappeared into the well. “H-hey, wait a minute! What about the people at the stairs?”
