InuYasha - The Story of the Last Child of Thunder
The story of Prince Raiko no Masatsune. Journal is currently experiencing delays.
Crazy Idea for an epic battle..
Okay, as you know, I listen to soundtracks. I listen to them so that I have inspiration for new battle, characters, plots, etc., to the story I'm trying to develop (yes, I know I haven't posted new chapters yet, but I will soon, dammit... just undergoing a little writer's block sweatdrop )

Recently, I listened to The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - The Complete Recordings, and I commend Howard Shore for creating one of the most epic scores I've listened to in a long time. I listened to the first track, "Glamdring," and it inspired me to create this battle scene between Prince Raiko and an evil character that he encounters along with InuYasha and the Gang. Please read and comment on what you think.

Raiko swung his staff round and round, blocking every attack that Mordei forced onto him. More and more, the narrow bridge that they fought across was falling apart; they fought close to the edge. Raiko saw this and tried to find a way around Mordei and away from the edge, but Mordei's strength and power diminished any hope of dong so. InuYasha, realizing Raiko was in danger, leapt into action.

"Raiko!! Hold on!" he yelled as he ran towards the duel.

But it seemed that he was too late... with one last blowing strike to Raiko, Raiko lost his balance and began to fall over the cliff. He reached out to grasp Mordei's arm to keep from falling, but instead caught his clothing; they both fell off the bridge.

"RAIKO!!!" InuYasha shouted, running towards the edge of the bridge. He expected to see Raiko falling towards certain doom, falling into the never-ending darkness, the abyss of this hell-hole.

Instead, what he saw shocked him: Raiko was dangling off the side of the bridge with a rope and hook; so was Mordei, growling and clawing his way up towards Raiko. His added weight strained the rope, causing it to rip.

"Gimme your hand, Raiko!" InuYasha reached out to Raiko, who was eyeing Mordei. Raiko then turned to InuYasha and said:

"I must fight alone..."

He let go of the rope and grabbed hold of Mordei's neck, forcing him off the rope as well. InuYasha couldn't believe it... he didn't think it was possible... but it happened...

Raiko fell into the darkness. He was dead.

.....................

Raiko and Mordei fell deeper into the darkness. They scuffled in mid-fall, fighting for dominance over the other. Mordei finally got hold of Raiko's neck and choked him. Raiko tried to fight him off.

"There is no need to fight boy! You're already dead! I'll make it quicker for you! DIE!!!"

Raiko struggled to force Mordei's hands from around his neck. He finally pulled them apart. "WHAT!?"

"I MAKE MY OWN DESTINY, GOT THAT?!" Raiko shouted. Opening Mordei for attack, he kicked him to the closing rocky walls, bouncing him off the sharp rocks. Raiko caught sight of his staff and caught hold of it. He turned upward and saw Mordei advancing on him with his sword. Raiko parried the attack and struck at Mordei. His strikes were wild, and Raiko was able to predict them and counter the attacks he made. He knocked Mordei's sword from his grasp, brought the staff to his neck and swung him around, placing him below Raiko as the descended further, deeper into the dark...

It was then that Raiko saw a lake... a lava lake. The two duelists fell into a cavern, almost like falling through a hole in the ceiling, and the floor was a swirling pit of hot lava.

Realizing that this may be his final battle, Raiko became headstrong. He had no regrets... this was his time...

He tightened the grip in his staff, gave a warrior's death call, thrusted the staff deep into Mordei's neck, and fell, fell, fell, untill...
