Random Ramblings of a Bean (part 22) and news
1) I've started a blog. Go and check it out. Right now it's just an old entry from here and this entry, but I'm going to start using it more and probably transferring some of my old stuff from here over to it.

2) I'm not a terribly creative person when it comes to inventing creatures or writing stories. I'm not a bad artist when I have the patience and, personally, I think my writing style is pretty good. I just lack imagination. I don't really mind most of the time, I'm okay with the talents I do have. However, occasionally my inferiority complex gives a bitter twitch and I feel jealous toward the people around me who do have those talents. I like drawing patterns and designs or scenes from everyday life, or close to everyday life more than inventing things, I suppose. And I like writing my thoughts and feelings and pondering human nature more than coming up with new ones. I guess that's just how it is.

3) In prompt contradiction to my above statement, I did write a story I'm pretty proud of not too long ago. I'll probably post it here pretty soon. It's not really finished, if anything, it's more like a summary of a bigger story that I have yet to write.

4)I suppose the reason I don't write more stories is because, along with not having many ideas, the ideas I do have seem to be borrowed from other people's stories and that bothers me. Originality seems to be going down the toilet these days. So many possibilities have already been covered in games, books, television shows and whatnot that it's almost impossible to write an original story without walking on well trodden ground. Even if you think you're writing something original, someone else will come along and read your work and compare it to a story by someone else.

5) It's the last month of my senior year in high school. I'm honestly going to miss this place. I would love to go back in time and be a freshman again. See, I've lived in the same place my entire life and a lot of my classmates this year have been classmates since kindergarten, so going to college is going to be a very new experience. Fortunately, it seems like about half of my class is going to be going to the same college I am, so I'll probably see them around.

6) Do you ever wish you could go back in time and make something different? It's human nature to regret things, it's what makes us grow as people. We make mistakes and learn from them, or, if we don't, we eventually die out. Our lives are like roads with constant intersections, you are always making a choice, even when you don't think you are. To get up right now or not to get up. To eat breakfast or go directly to work or school. And all those choices seem so insignificant, if you went back and made a different choice you might end up at the same end result as you did with the original choice. But those all add up, too. And the result at the very, very end may be totally different because of all those tiny choices you made.

7) Truth, in many ways, is an extremely abstract concept. For example, what we can see and touch, we accept to be true. However, human perception is different person to person and the 'hallucinations' one person takes to be reality seem totally false to the rest of us. It's like how some people believe in this huge and abstract thing called God and totally reject science, and others believe in science because that is what has been proven. But, if you think about it, both of those require human perception to be true. God requires faith and belief to see how he exists. Science needed people to look for an answer and needs people to already have basic expectations of what will happen. People see what they want to see, what their brains tell them should logically exist. One person's truth may be true for them, but totally false for another person. That is the point. Just because God really does exist for one person and they most definitely will go to heaven or hell when they die doesn't mean that the person sitting next to them will go to heaven or hell when they die.
