Nikole's eyes were hazy and misguided. Staying for more than 48 hours at a time, with few coffee breaks took a toll on her. She sat groggily and slumped in a chair, leaning forward, trying to focus on the computer screen that sat in front of her. She couldn't leave until all her paperwork was done, which thankfully, was almost to the point of completion. Typing the last words of her work, Nikole proceed to stand up until her cell started to ring. Ignoring the I.D., she answered.

"Hello?" She tried to answer with a bounce in her voice but failed miserably.

"...please tell me I didn't wake you...?" A male voice answered back.

Nikole sighed.

"No, I'm at work."

"Oh...well, I need a favor from you..." The man asked.

"What do you want?"

"I...need you to watch Phoenix for the weekend..." Silence was Nikole's reply.

"Why?"

"I have a business trip to attend to and he wants to see you..." Nikole sighed.

"Cody...I really can't...Amanda still doesn't know about-"

"You still haven't told her!?!" Cody snapped.

"Why the hell should I? I don't want to see her reaction to me having your son. I'm not ready to deal with that right now."

"Please, just for the weekend 'Red', that's all I ask for of you right now..." Cody begged.

Nikole stood in her spot, staring at the wall in front of her.

"Fine. Are you dropping him off or should I pick him up?"

"...Pick up will work better..."

"Yeah you're right, what time...?

"Friday, say around...12:30ish?

"Works for me."

"Thanks 'Red', I owe you."

"Yeah you do..."

With that, Nikole hung up, and headed back home, wondering how to deal with her new situation at hand.
