Pokemon - The Real Story of Colludo - Chapter 4

The Yellow Brick Road Stained

"So ya think you’re pretty tough, huh? Salamence, use Dragonbreath!”

“Oh, no you don’t! Glaceon, Ice Beam!”

“Salamence is unable to battle! Glaceon wins!” Katie was in the middle of more roleplay.

“Oh yea! This is just the beginning.”

“I’m sure it is.” said Prof. Moore who walked out of the house.

“Meeting over already?” she asked.

“Yes. This one was shorter than most.”

“Any leads? Did they like my idea?”

“About it being a Pokemon, yes. A natural Pokemon, no. They think it might be a man-made Pokemon.”

“I sure hope not.” Katie said.

“We all hope it’s not true.” he replied. “But until we know we’re keeping our feet on the ground.”

“So, you ready to battle?” Katie asked.

“You bet, but I should warn you. Going up against a Pokemon Professor is not an easy match.”

“Bring it.” Katie’s eyes glowed as if the fire in her soul suddenly ignited.

“This match will be a one on one match.” Katie said, imitating a referee. “Each trainer will use only one Pokemon. The last one standing will be the winner.”

“Ok, then. I’ll unleash the first Pokemon.” said Prof. Moore. “Go, Hitmonlee!”

“Heh, I can beat that. Go, Gardevoir.”

“Gardevoir.”

“And begin!”

“Ok, Gardevoir. You know what to do. Use Thunderbolt!”

“Hitmonlee, dodge and use Meditate.”

“Uncle!”

“What?”

“You’re supposed to imitate the Pokemon you’re battling with.”

“But that’s embarrassing.”

“More embarrassing than your messy room?”

“Alright, Katie, you win.” Prof. Moore was very embarrassed. “I sure hope nobody sees me.” he thought.

“Hitmonlee!”

“Hitmonlee dodged the attack and began to meditate!”

“Gardevoir, Psybeam!”

“Gardevoir.”

“Gardevoir slams Hitmonlee with a super effective move!”

“Hitmonlee.”

“Hitmonlee, counter with Mega Kick!”

“Gardevoir, Psych Up!”

“Gardevoir used Psych Up just as Hitmonlee slams into its target.”

“Gar. . .devoir.”

“Gardevoir’s not looking so hot but Hitmonlee’s still in it.”

“Hitmonlee, finish it off, with Brick Break!”

“Gardevoir, get him with Thunderpunch!”

“Gardevoir!”

“Hitmonlee!” Both Katie and Prof. Moore ran at each other and threw dust into the air.

“The two Pokemon have collided with each other! What will the outcome be!?” The dust cleared and the two were on the ground.

“Hitmonlee and Gardevoir are unable to battle! This match is a draw! There is no victor for this battle!” Prof. Moore and Katie began to laugh.

“It’s a good way to burn some energy.” Katie said.

“I can see why you like this.” Prof. More replied. Katie smiled as she sat up. Prof. Moore stood.

“Wanna battle again?”

“No, I have a better idea.”

“Oh? And what might that be?”

“I’m a big, mean Dusknoir and I’m going to catch you!” he shouted.

“Eeep!” Katie leaped off the ground and darted across the yard with Prof Moore in tow.

“I’m gonna get you!”

“Nooooo!” she screamed while laughing. The two were darting back and forward across the lawn.

“I’ve got you!” Prof. Moore shouted jumping in the air and grabbing Katie.

“EEEP!!” she shouted. The two were rolling around and the ground.

“You can’t escape from me!”

“Nooooo!” she shouted while laughing. Katie was smiling so big; bigger than she had in awhile.

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!” The two stopped and looked up.

“Someone screamed.” Katie said. The two got up and ran into the Petaldance Garden, where the scream was from. The two ran along the yellow paved roads that lead through the garden. This is why the sign of Sakura Town reads “The shining yellow brick road begins.” The Petaldance Garden and Sakura Town are paved with shining yellow bricks. “I’ll go see what’s going on!” said Katie as she ran ahead. “I hope nobody’s hurt.” she thought. Suddenly she saw a woman on the ground staring off into nothing. “Hey, are you ok?!” she asked as she kneeled down but the woman didn’t say anything. She just kept staring into nothing. “Hey, answer me!” she shook the woman but still nothing. All of a sudden the wind blew an unpleasant smell up her nostrils. Katie turned her head and looked in the same direction that the woman was. She took a big breath, stood up, and walked over to some bushes to take a peek. Katie nearly keeled when she saw what the woman screamed about. It was a Pokemon corpse; the skin ripped off. “UNCLE!!!!!” Katie cried out.

“Katie!” Prof. Moore shouted as he finally caught up to her. “Katie, what’s wrong?!” he asked. Katie lost all strength in her body at the sight and fell back in his arms. Prof. Moore got a whiff of the corpse and looked over the bushes. His eyes opened with terror at the sight.

“Whatever’s causing so much trouble in Celladon,” Katie started. “Is here. . .in Sakura Town.”
