Pokemon - The Real Story of Colludo - Chapter 7

The Results

Later on everyone was chowing down on takeout. “At least it’s better than the airline food.” Prof. Oak said.

“Um, excuse me.” Prof. Moore said.

“The takeout in Celladon is much better than in Sinnoh.” Prof. Rowan added.

“Excuse me?” Prof. Moore said again.

“Eh, I was never a fan of takeout.” Katie said.

“Will you forget the food for just a minute!?” he shouted.

“Well, you don’t have to shout as us old men.” Prof. Oak said.

“Oh, come on. You’re not old.” Katie started. “You’re just. . .not. . .very young, that’s all.”

“Would you all just listen? The results are back from the chemical analysis.” Everyone jumped up.

“And?” Prof. Rowan said.

“There wasn’t enough of the residue to make a successful test.”

“Darnit!” Prof. Oak shouted.

“But the computer did come up with this. There were trace amounts of PcHI-42 and CX-47.”

“Those are laboratory chemicals.” Prof. Rowan stated.

“Yea, and there was also something else the computer picked up.”

“What?” Katie asked.

“You’re not gonna believe this but,” Prof. Moore paused. “There was trace amounts of the medicine that is created by, get this, Gabite scales.”

“Are you pulling out chains, Moore?” Oak demanded.

“No, that’s what the analysis found with what little I had to work with and get this. The sample I gave it disappeared an hour into the test.”

“Disappeared!?” Prof. Rowan and Oak shrieked.

“How’s that possible, Uncle?” Katie asked.

“I have no clue. It’s almost as if the sample just evaporated into mid air.”

“How bad a situation is this?” Katie asked.

“Very bad, Katie.” Prof. Rowan said. “All this evidence points to it being a man-made Pokemon.”

“That’s horrible!” Katie shouted.

“Indeed, it is bad news.” Everyone turned towards the elevator to see a new face. “I take it I didn’t miss much.” Prof. Birch said.

“Birch, good to see you.” Prof. Moore said.

“Can I hug him too?” Katie asked.

“Of course you can.” Prof. Birch said with a smile.

“Yee!” Katie ran towards him and glomped him. “Hi Professor Birch. I’m Katie Moore. It’s great to meet you.” she said with a giant smile.

“Well, it’s certainly great to meet you too.” he replied with a smile.

“I’m assuming you heard all that?” Prof. Oak asked.

‘Yep, all of it.” he replied as Katie dropped.

“So how are you doing, Birch?” Prof. Rowan asked.

“Starving.” he replied. “The food stock they had on my flight was all bad. I haven’t eaten since earlier this morning.”

“That’s horrible!” Katie shrieked as she ran for the elevator and pressed the button. “Wait just ten minutes and I’ll make you something delicious.” she said as she ran into the elevator.

“Moore, you never told us Katie could cook.” Prof. Rowan said.

“Yea, I didn’t know she could cook.” Pro. Oak said.

“I didn’t know either.” Prof. Moore replied. Everyone went silent. Prof. Birch let out a fearful chuckle.

“I think I’m in trouble.” he said. In ten minutes Katie was back with a giant plate filled to the brim with delicious smelling food. All the professors were drooling.

“This looks delicious.” Prof. Birch said as he breathed the aroma deeply. The smell filled the lab and made everyone oh so envious. Prof. Birch didn’t even hesitate to take a giant mouthful. His eyes opened wide and then he sunk back in his chair. “This food. . . is the best food. . .in the history of food.” he said right after he swallowed.

“Yay!” Katie said with a smile.

“Why does he get that?” Prof. Moore asked.

“Cause he was here late. If you want this you’ll have to wait till morning.” All the professors were drooling at the sight of the delicious looking array of food on Prof. Birch’s plate.

“That looks sooo good.” Prof. Oak said.

“Yea, it sure it. And it’s all mine.” Prof. Birch said. He wasn’t about to share this meal.

“Where did you learn to cook?” Prof. Moore asked Katie.

“I learned on my own. I had to take care of Mom and Dad when they got sick.” she replied. “Anyways, I’m really tired so I’m gonna hit the sack. Night all.” she said as she walked towards the elevator.

“Good night, Katie.” they all said. Prof. Moore frowned.

“*Sigh* Katie.
