Pokemon - The Real Story of Colludo - Chater 10

Missing

//To make this more intense listen to "Japanese Music Box" by George Winston while reading the last paragraph.\

“Professors!” shouted a man who lived in Sakura Town. “Another Pokemon body has been found!”

“Com on, everyone!” shouted Prof. Moore. “Let’s take a look.” All the professors ran out to the garden where the man found the new body.

“This one looks just like the one found by you and Katie.” Prof. Rowan said.

“Maybe we’ll be able to get some more answers from this one. It still smells fresh.” Prof. Elm said as he covered his nose with a handkerchief.

“Speaking of Katie, where is she?” Prof. Oak inquired. “She said she would be back and that was hours ago. And the sun is beginning to set.”

“Yea, I was wondering that about myself.” Prof. Moore said. “It’s not like her to be back late without saying something.”

“Well, how bout half of us stay to examine the corpse and the other half go to look for her?” Prof. Birch asked.

“That’s a good idea.” Prof. Moore replied. “Ok. Oak, Rowan, you two stay behind to take care of the body and Elm, Birch, and myself will go and look for Katie.” All the professors nodded.

“Professor!” Prof. Moore turned around to see Officer Jenny running towards him.

“Ah hello, Officer Jenny. What are you doing here?”

“We heard another body was found and I came to investigate. But that’s not the reason I came running.”

“What is then?”

“I found this deep in the garden.” Officer Jenny held out a brown trainer bag.

“That’s Katie’s bag!” Prof. Birch shouted. “I’d know that bag from anywhere! I’m the one who gave it to her parents.” Prof. Moore took the bag from the officer.

“How’d you know this was Katie’s?” he said with fear in his voice.

“The inside flap is embroidered with the phrase “Property of Katie T. Moore.” The only Moore I knew of was you Professor.” Prof. Moore opened the flap and looked and the embroidery. “There’s something else you should know, Professor. There were shreds of skin found near her bag. My force is bagging the evidence now.” Prof. Moore looked up with utter fear in his eyes. Everyone was silent. Prof. Moore looked up. Heavy clouds were beginning to cover the sky. It was clear that it was going to ran soon.

“We will continue as planned.” Prof. Moore said. “Oak and Rowan will take care of the body while the rest of us go to look for my niece.”

“Do you have a recent photo of you niece?” Officer Jenny asked. Prof. Moore reached into his wallet and pulled out a picture of Katie.

“This is the most recent picture I have.” he said. “It was taken when she came to live with me.”

“Ok, then. I’ll make sure everyone’s on the lookout for her. Meanwhile you all should continue as you normally do.”

“No,” Prof. Moore interrupted. “I’m going to look for my niece. She’s the only family I have left.”

“Ok, but if you are you’d better be careful.” Officer Jenny said.

“Come on you two. Are you gonna help me or not?” he motioned to Elm and Birch. The two nodded and ran towards the scene closely behind Moore. “Katie, please be safe.” he thought to himself. Rowan and Oak turned around and walked back to the lab where the body was being delivered.

“You wonder why he chose the younger of the bunch to help him?” Prof. Oak asked.

“I have no clue in the slightest. I feel fit as a fiddle.” Rowan replied. The two professors laughed and hurried their way back to the lab. About three hours later, after the sun had completely set, Katie slowly came to. It was pitch black as Katie came to.

Mmm, where am I?” she though as she slowly sat up. Katie couldn’t see a thing but she could hear. It was pouring down rain and thunder could be heard in the distance. “A thunder storm?” she though. “That wasn’t in the forecast.” Katie tried her best to look around with no prevail. It was too dark to see anything but she could feel. Katie noticed that the ground was hard and cold. “This feels like rock. And it’s dry in here. Am I inside a cave? It sure sounds like it.” Katie stood up and rubbed her body. It ached. “Why does my body hurt? What happened to me?” Katie did her best to remember but only fragments came back to her. “I remember, Lucario. . . and his gang. They were attacking another Pokemon, but what Pokemon? And why?” Suddenly her thoughts began to race and at that exact time lightning flash and a shadow appeared on the wall behind her. Katie turned her head away from the shadow just as lightning struck again to reveal a dark figure standing about eight feet away from her. Katie screamed and fell back against the wall. “That’s the thing that Lucario’s gang was bullying!” she shrieked. The lightning struck again as Katie screamed again into the night; her whole body shook with terror. Neither spoke a word, only stared at each other. Katie’s stare was of fear and the Pokemon’s was cold-hearted, though neither could see each other’s expressions. Tears ran down Katie’s eyes. “I’m not going home. I’m going to die. I’m never going to get out of this.” This though made her cry. Katie’s eyes poured tears as her body went limp with hopelessness. In the dark, in the shadow of this creature, she cried into the night.
