Style: Old-Style Dragon Slayer (Earth; learned from the dragon Terratius)

Dragon Slayer magic (滅竜魔法 Metsuryū Mahō) is a specialised form of magic which the series suggests can only be learned from the dragons themselves. Dragon Slayer allows the user, to a certain degree, transform their body into that of a Dragon. As a result of this, those with Dragon Slayer abilities are able to change their body to their own element, in both offensive and defensive styles. Because their own bodies can function as make-shift weapons unique only to themselves, Dragon-slayers are typically unarmed fighters who excel in hand-to-hand combat. They can also consume external sources of their natural element to replenish themselves, although it has been demonstrated that certain foreign substances will substantially increase their power, ie. Natsu's consumption of Aetherion greatly increases both the strength of his body, and his magic.

Element/Magic: Earth - as in, it isn't uncommon to see Ren munching on Dirt or Rocks. His teeth aren't really in the best condition. Rocks are better than dirt; and his magic works better with rock in general. The key to this style of Dragon Slaying is stance. The user must maintain a very firm and strong stance.

Abilities (non magic):

  • Physical tank.
  • Endurance. His body is strong; yet worn. See weaknesses.
  • Practicality (i.e. whenever he travels, Ren can make a home anywhere from rock or tunnel into the ground.)
  • Amazing sense of smell (as do all dragon slayers.)
  • Holding his breath for long periods.
  • Tunneling. Using his harden, soften, and earth control Ren can quickly and efficiently tunnel using magic to literally transform his body into a drill. Supportive/combative; it is very hard on the body.
  • Control over earth. He can move it by will.

Magic:

  • Earth Dragon's Armor: Ren encases his entire body in hard rock to better protect it and fights in it. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Burial: A difficult attack. Using a mixture of his abilities (harden, soften, control) he creates a sinkhole under where the enemy is standing and ends up burying them completely. Usually fatal/for capturing. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Claw: Ren receives stone in the form of claws/blades on his hands. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Crystal Breath: Achievable only during/being able to use Dragon Force.
  • Earth Dragon's Crystal Muse: Achievable only during/being able to use Dragon Force.
  • Earth Dragon's Crystal Case: Achievable only during/being able to use Dragon Force.
  • Earth Dragon's Division: Achievable only during/being able to use Dragon Force. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Harden: Ren hardens rock/earth. Supportive.
  • Earth Dragon's Quake: Ren creates an earthquake by leaping high into the air and slamming onto the floor. Alternatively, a fairly weaker version is by smashing hands onto the ground. One of his most powerful attacks, but hard on the body. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Roar: An earth-based version of Fire/Metal Dragon's roar; expels an energy blast. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Rock Blast: Sends a massive amount of earth (whether it be dirt, rocks, etc.) at the enemy, often blinds them for a while. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Rockslide: Ren creates a mountain using his earth control or uses an already existed one. He than sends down a volley of rocks/earth at his enemy. Potentially very powerful; requires less effort than Earth Dragon's Quake. Ren can either send the rocks down by will or push/punch/kick them down (hard on body) to make them stronger. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Soften: Ren softens rock/earth. Supportive.
  • Earth Dragon's Tail Whip: Ren gathers and builds on his back to create a solid tail. One of the most basic Earth Dragon moves. Combative.
  • Earth Dragon's Tremorous Steps: Ren's signature move. He takes a firm stance and begins to quickly move, while adding weight onto his feet to create mini earth quakes with each step. If the user is not quick enough they may become seriously disoriented. One of Ren's strongest moves.

Weaknesses:

  • Wear and tear on body. A lot of Ren's magic is physically strenuous and even if he can eat his element to regain energy, in the long run it can hurt his bones. He often has aches already.
  • Energy return. If he eats his element (which is luckily found everywhere) he has to eat a lot. This is why Ren often snacks in between missions and at random times.
  • 'Amnesia'. His 'amnesia' gives him constant problems. He has both anterogarde (e.g. forgets new people/events a few seconds or minutes after meeting them though this is to a lesser extent) and retrogarde 'amnesia' (e.g. forgetting memories and recollecting them later.) Sometimes when he hits his head he can forget things. A magic doctor once told him it would be impossible to fix with magic since it seems to be tampered with.
  • Density. Enough said; since Ren is lacking in common sense sometimes and relies on Pheonix for it.
  • Rashness. Ren doesn't quite think things through all the time.
