Caroline Amber, daughter of Ambrose Amber and Helena Ross. Caroline means 'free man' but she often goes by Carol.

100% Human.. what else would she be?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx g e n d e r
.. Female.

5'3

121 lb. Weight is something Carol's extremely concious about, even if it is mostly muscle, plus she watches over her health.

A few inches past her shoulders, Carol's hair is thin-medium and golden blonde. Naturally, it's slightly wavy so most mornings she straightens it.. somehow it's still very soft.

Emerald green. When she's angry, they can look surprisingly scary but are probably one of her nicest features.

American, probably of English descent. Lineage isn't really important to her.

Carol is a generally small girl - she hates being called small or little. It's the only thing she dislikes about herself other than her weight (which is average, but for some reason she's very concious about it). She does have that older appearance to her - she wouldn't be mistaken for a child, all though there is something very gentle and soft in her features. Considering her nasty temper, 'never judge a book by its cover' is something to be said about her. Otherwise, Carol doesn't really mind too much about her appearance, though like the average college girl, she's not fast in the morning. Personal hygiene and a kept appearance are important to her so she spends around two hours on herself each morning. Generally, she isn't the type to overdo something but clean clothes and cleanliness in general is something important to her.

Carol is generally a responsible, mature, and intelligent girl. She takes care of herself and has been doing so for a while. She somehow manages to keep up with her studies and have time for working. Carol thinks ahead of time and is a good planner, all though sometimes she can go overboard, but her temper is nasty. Once she's angry, and her dog Dexter knows this best of all, she's pretty scary. Most of the time, Carol's fairly patient with people except for the case of Jibril. Jibril just about makes her want to strangle a kitten. She's very clean and likes to have a clean house all of the time - messiness and fur usually means cleaning, and when her guests come in and make a mess.. Carol usually gets nagged by the little voice in her head that tells her: CLEAN IT, CLEAN IT. She feels guilt very easily, and has a kind heart. She doesn't take well to laziness or unproductively. Carol can be called uptight and she has a hard time getting loose sometimes. There's no one at the moment she's totally comfortable with, including her two parents and most of her friends. She's very guarded and it takes a lot of effort and time to get through her wall - she's actually quite sensitive sometimes, but is also a quick learner especially when it comes to people.
She has a side of her that loves art - dance especially. She used to be a talented dancer until she gave it up for writing. Occasionally she does columns in local magazines and she likes it, but a part of her misses dancing in studios. She's taught dance to children before as a side job. Carol also loves dioramas. As a little girl, she used to make them with her father of historical sites, and it's rubbed off on her. She also has a love for history. She's protective of herself and her things, especially when it comes to her true feelings.

  • Flowers. They easily lighten up a room and bring color and life into it. Her favorite is the tiger lily.
  • Dexter! She bought the dog on an impulse, possibly in retaliation to her mother, and later found out a chihuahua was definately not her type of dog. In any case, she's grown to love it more than anything, but gets annoyed at barking and licking. In fact, it knows that licking will get time out on the balcony.
  • She has a love for good steak, all though she hates the fact that she adores most meats.
  • Ice cream.. <3
  • Lady Gaga!! Mostly bands without screaming. She is a fan of anyone who doesn't use autotune, really.
  • The color blue.
  • Writing stories, and writing in general. She wants to someday write for something big, like Elle or the Times.
  • Dance, though her passion for it has died down. She used to do acro and ballet.
  • History.
  • APRIL FOOL'S DAY.
  • Anything shiny. (Shiny = Clean).
  • Her apartment. Nice and clean, just the opposite of her father's home.
  • Going out to eat.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx d i s l i k e s
  • Weeds.
  • Skunks, mice, rats, and bugs.
  • Caviar.
  • Rap.
  • Irresponsibility.
  • People who ignore her, people who are just plain rude, nasty and grumpy people, anyone overly optimistic, and most of all, anyone who she thinks is stealing her dog.. Jibril falls under all of these categories but one - optimisim. 3nodding
  • Her mother's cats and her mother's house. Carol hates having her mother over because it usually means cat fur all over her furniture. Her mother's boyfriend, though, is actually someone she can tolerate easily, since he has a very similar sense of order and he has the sense to bring her gifts to compensate for her mother's cat fur - not to mention the fact that he's very okay with her own father.
  • Her father's phone calls and his loneliness.

  • Endurance. Having danced from age 3-17, she has quite a bit. Training was never easy and she barely managed to do it. Carol could probably run a good few kilometers before getting tired too.
  • Flexibility.. same reasons.
  • Management. Carol is extremely orderly and among other things, it's natural she'd be good with managing people/projects.
  • Memorization.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx c o m b a t
  • She took one karate class when she was younger and decided she was done when she realized she had to take off her shoes and socks and actually make physical contact with people she barely knew.

None.. she's a regular human.

Carol was born to Helena Amber (originally Ross) and Ambrose Amber. She grew up in a happy family - her father was a clever man, and he was a history professor. He often liked to make models of feats of the Ancient World, something which Carol delighted in watching him do. Her mother was an actress, famous for her many commercials - chewing gum mainly. She eventually stopped to help raise her daughter, and later got a job working as an accountant. Her mother had a fondness for cats, so Carol always had a cat while growing up. She'd developed a love for felines. First there was Scoozie, who was pictured in many of Carol's baby pictures as a rather fat tabby who scowled at the baby sleeping or who was more interested in Carol's toys than she was. Scoozie died when Carol was six from old age. Her mother got a new cat, Miffin (named by Carol since she couldn't say 'Mitten' for a very long time) who got hit by a car when Carol was 8. Later on, her mother got her two main cats - Aristotle (by Carol's father) and Mandy (by Carol's mother). These two cats ended up being what started the unease with her parents.
Her father had always had a passion for Egyptology. His most recent project in his spare time was a model of the temple of Abu Simbel which he spent tedious hours on. Carol, at that time 12, and taking an interest in art and history like her father, often liked to help. One day when returning from school, Carol and her father discovered the model destroyed and covered in cat hair. When questioned her mother -- who believed it was an 'interrogation' for her precious kitties -- she heatedly replied it was not her cats, yet the damage was done. Her parents slowly grew apart, and her father was very upset. Half a year after the incident, she called for divorce claiming she had met a man who 'loved' her and was 'passionate about things other than dusty ruins'. Her father was never the same again, and while her mother eventually broke up with the new guy and dated other people, Carol's father became more shy and guarded.
Carol, almost 14, spent four weeks with her father and one with her mother. Her father had three extra apartments (left to him by his mother) and a steady job as a history professor while her mother began working as a secretary and lived in different places at different times. While her father became sort of a personal mess, Carol instead had taken control of their life: she cleaned the house, got groceries, got food.. she became completely independant through her high school years though sometimes she struggled with time management issues. When she lived with her father, money was good: the university he taught at paid well and he had tenant money coming in. With her mother, however, Carol grew to resent her life. Her mother's home was almost always a mess - fur, waste, filth, and usually take out for food. The main difference, however, was that somehow her mother was happy - extremely happy. She had about five cats now and sometimes there would be a boyfriend to meet or her mother would go out clubbing. Carol believed her mother should take better care of herself. Instead, most of her time went to her cats and friends.
Carol easily got herself a job when she was sixteen. She worked and saved money. When it was time to graduate high school she had to make one of the biggest choices of her life: dance or writing. Dance had been a passion of hers ever since she was very young. It was something she loved to do. Writing was something else, though her love for it was recent. She eventually chose to pursue a career hopefully with journalism since it was more stable than dancing. She moved out when she was 19 into a recently renovated apartment her father owned. But with this came another change: for the first time, her mother had a stable partner in her life since Carol's father. Len Rogers was an entrepeneur and probably the first of her mother's boyfriends Carol had actually liked. They'd been dating for three months. Her mother called her one day and invited Carol over for dinner to meet someone, and Carol had accepted. She was instantly surprised at the decently-clean (she did own five furry cats after all) new house outside of New York. Somehow, Len had even kept her mother from buying new cats, and he proved to be funny and smart. Somehow, he was someone Carol liked - he even did the dishes and confided that he hated the cats too. Yet she couldn't help but question: why did her mother get to be happy while her father was still an emotional mess?
As of present date, she still talks to both of her parents, though her father more often. He calls to talk about things still. Ambrose Amber has undoubtedly been lonely since his daughter left home. Her mother's life is under control and Carol.. well, she is doing fine on her own. Recently she bought a dog - a chihuahua, who she'd name Dexter - on pure impulse. Maybe she was lonely too.
