1) Reawoken.
I awoke to the sound of horses trotting along the cobblestone street. My bed sure felt cold. I rolled over to realize I was not in my bed, I was out on the freezing snowy street.
gonk WHERE THE HECK IS MY BED!?
More importantly... where the heck am I?
confused No matter. I stood up and dusted the snow from my... my tattered clothes? It looked as if I had been wearing these clothes for years and that rats tried to eat me alive. Come to think of it, I smell like a rat.
Finally composing myself....(
crying )... I uneasily made my way to the alley entrance to see exactly where I was. What I saw was not what I expected to see.
The world before me was a horrid, horrid place. The people walked like the dead. The horses where not horses, but merely skeletons as if they carried Death himself. Dark metals mixing with fire like lava. Machines of such crudeness that it was a wonder how they worked. Some of the people walked with chains about their ankles and wrists.
This was not the world I remember, but how did I get here? Why can't I remember anything before waking up? All I can recall was a bright light and here I was.
My hands reached into my ragged pockets to search for the one thing that was familiar to me. My wand. Nothing. It wasn't there!
eek H...how!?
Before I could ask further, one of the lumbering bucket of bolts loomed over me. Its large hand reached out to grab me. I eluded it and ran deeper into the alley.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!"
gonk "OW GOSH! What was that?!" I cried realizing that the monster was calling reinforcements. Others came. My end of the alley was a dead one. Their end was blockaded.
No wand, no magic, and not enough manpower to fight these foul tin cans, I did the only thing I could think of at the time.
Scream like a little sissy and hope someone would come to my rescue.
