For those who didn't know, my birthday was on the 12th. Last Friday. What did I do? I worked. Never told my fellow employees it was my birthday.
Anyway... some of you asked what I got. Well, I'm now 30. I haven't received a physical gift to open since... at least 10 years now. Occasionally I get a gift from my younger brother. Though usually in the form of seeing a movie, cake (ice cream cake this year) or something small. Which is awesome.
For gifts on Gaia, a good friend of mine, whom will remain anonymous, gave me two items I wanted from my wish list. To everyone else, I never ask for gifts on Gaia. I very very very rarely ever give birthday gifts on Gaia. I work. I don't do zOMG, Booty Grab, etc. My gold wasn't easy to obtain, so I would prefer to spend it on my self. Not being selfish, but it is just pixels. I like my pixels to look nice. I never expect gifts from anybody and would prefer you all focus on personal quests.
So... what did I get? Other than the two items on Gaia, I got myself something. Yes, I shouldn't buy myself a gift, but I did. I'd been wanting a 3DS. Sadly, Nintendo's sales for the 3DS have been doing poorly. The result was the 3DS dropping from $250 down to $170. Plus the price drop occurred on my birthday. Then the following day, Saturday was a no tax day. To top it all off, GameStop did a special old DS -> 3DS trade-in deal. Normally a DS lite only gets about $30. The deal made the DS lite worth $50, putting the 3DS down to about $120. So did I get it? Damn right.
While I don't have any 3DS specific games, it did come with the augment reality cards, which are mini games that use the 3D technology + the cameras. It also pushes me to stop flying in circles in Infinite Space (DS scifi RPG) for money and just finish it. Once finished, I'll have 3 more RPGs to complete. Then I might look into a 3DS game.
So...
Any 3DS games recommended? I'm looking forward to Heroes of Ruin next year.
