Slayer

Abilities
Whip tricks: Lashing out and striking is not the only use of flail type weapons. There are a number of secret techniques used by slayers utilizing their weapon of choice.

Whip swing: Wrapping a flail around a distant object allows a slayer to leap and make a long distance swing, or alternately pull themselves up to a higher ledge.

Whip Combo: Normally a flail must be drawn back and snapped forward to make a single attack. A sluggish affiar. A whip combo inflicts multiple attacks without retracting the whip. Of course each successive blow, decreases in power since the flail loses momentum. It's up to the slayer to decide how many blows to land. Although this abillity IS available from the outset it is fairly weak. Each quest completed will add 1 more hit to the number of blows the flail can deal before beginning to lose momentum.

Whip Shield: A defensive manuver in which the flail is spun at high speed around the slayer. It moves so fast it's difficult to at any one time pinpoint the whip's true location. This is ideal for diverting projectile attacks (excluding bullets) and bare hand melee attacks but be careful not to get your weapon entwined with an enemie's. The outcome is none too pleasant for either party.

Holy Weapons

Like the occultist a Slayer can make use of the holy weapons set.

Cross: The cross is mostly defensive. Blessed with holy magic it can repel vampires and other dark creatures with its sight alone.

Knife: A slayer carries ten throwing knives that can be quickly whipped at an enemy. They are light but fast, making them useful for an immediate long range attack. Blessed with holy magic, these knives do much more damage to beings of black alignment.

Axe: A blessed francisca, a light axe that is ideal for throwing. An slayer carries two of these. They have more weight than a knife and do great damage when thrown.

Holy Water: This versetile vial carries a pint of holy water. It can be splashed on monsters, or spread on the ground defensively, or even used in exorcisms against stubborn demons. When it touches any vampire or black aligned monster it bursts into holy flames.

Garlic Laurel: Actually it's hardly a weapon but rather one more defensive measure. This wreath of garlic bulbs strung together emits a strong odor that burns the nostrils of vampires and lycanthropes.

Wooden Mallet and Stake: Both made of blessed oak these tools are used to finish off a vampire by pounding the stake through the ribcage and taking out the heart of a vampire. It's slow and unwieldy but is extremely powerful.

The Good Book: Usually a bible, though a prayer book or other holy text will suffice. When read aloud its verses are intollerable to vampires, demons, and other such monsters alligned with the darkness. It is ideal for driving off evil spirits.

Silver Stakes: A relatively new developement in the war against evil. These are long, slender, and extremely sharp stakes, made of steel and plated in silver, and dipped in blessed murcury. They're longer and sharper than the wooden stake, so they can be thrust with a hand. Since they're not made of wood, they aren't as good a conductor of spiritual energy as wooden stakes and thus less powerful, but their silver and murcury coating make them useful against not only vampires, but also werewolves, zombies, and all manner of unholy things. An occultist carries three at a time.

Item Crash

A powerful fighting techniqe, a sort of everything or nothing kind of attack in which a slayer throws multiple of his/her weapons at once calling on divine protection to empower them. These can also be leveled up once to even higher levels. Leveling up will be explained later. Below are the effects of different weapons.

Knives:
Level 1: Holding one with each finger or thumb a total of ten can be thrown at an enemy in front of you at once or scattered about to hit a large number of enemies.
Level 2: Knives are held as in the level 1 item crash but never released. Rather the holy magic within the knives is flung off from the blades hurling a series of magical blades forward. This can be repeated 3 times in rapid succession resulting in a total of 30 holy blades hurled forward in a storm of righeous fury. However this also uses up the holy magic within the knives as causes them to turn to dust.

Axe:
Level 1: One axe is thrown in each hand in independant directions allowing you to strike two enemies at once, or one enemy twice.
Level 2: This method makes use of both axes. By holding one in each hand and twirling around once the slayer slings off a storm of magical blades formed from the holy magic within the axes. It flings destructive magical axe blades in all directions. Afterward the holy magic within the axes is depleated and the axes turn to dust.

Cross:
Level 1: Praying over a cross erects a powerful holy ward for a breif instant, oblitterating weaker dark creatures, and damaging the stronger. Afterwards the cross loses all holy properties. Level 2: The cross is thrown forward at an enemy where it actually splits into four individual crosses formed from holy magic which twirl around and repeatedly strike a single enemy for several seconds before returning to the slayer's hand. This however depletes the holy magic in the cross and causes it to turn to dust.

Holy Water:
Level 1: You throw your vial of holy water against the ground/cieling/wall/monster causing it to explode. Holy force propels it outward, in droplets that fly like bullets striking and burning any unholy being nearby. This of course costs you all of your holy water and breaks your vial. Level 2: Throw your vial of holy water into the sky (inside it will actually dissapear into the cieling) The vial quickly ascends out of sight before a storm of holy water droplets rains down like a spring shower to the innocent, and a hail of arrows to the guilty. Obviously you use up all of your holy water in the process and lose your vial.

Garlic Laurel:
Level 1: Holding up a laurel of garlic the slayer causes it to explode sending its scent scattering about the area. Delicious to humans but to vampires, lycanthropes, or other evil creatures its outright sickening. Level 2: (No level 2 Garlic item crash)

Stake:
Level 1: A stake can be hurled with bare hands with tremendous force. Enough to drive it right into a vampire's heart. Level 2: By exerting force of will upon a stake it can be caused to explode into a storm of wooden needles that will fly in the direction the stake was pointed in. To most this would seem to be only a painful series of splinters but to a vampire or other creatures of darkness this is like being staked a thousand times over.

The Good Book:
Level 1: This is the only totally defensive item crash. The good book is used as a physical shield against an attack. Unlike any other kind of attack though the good book does not block the force of an attack but rather it blocks murderous intent behind that attack. This means that while a companion's errant attack may not be stopped the strongest of demons would have its attack stopped cold. Level 2: This attack is called "Angel Feathers" The good book flies apart and the pages whirl through the air in a vortex becoming blades of holy energy that will slice through any evil creature they encounter.

Silver Stakes:
Due to their newness, slayers have not yet devised an item crash for Silver Stakes.
Item crashes are leveled by completing quests. You will unlock your choice of one level 2 item crash for every 2 quests completed and purchasing the corasponding book and spending two days game time reading it in RP.

Qualities
Physical prowess: A slayer is in peak physical condition, capable of performing acrobatic feats at a moment's notice, running for extended periods of time, without being winded, and in general being a difficult person to tire out.
Piety: Slayers are trained by the church so devotion to God comes with the territory. It also means that a slayer has some degree of holy protection against posession, and can resist vampiric infection for twice as long as any other character class, and retain free will if transformed into a vampire, or werewolf. If killed their body can not be raised as a zombie.
White Alignment: Slayers have a natural magical alignment of white. This ties them to that which is holy and allows them to walk through white aligned wards. This also means other white aligned attacks are next to useless against a slayer.

Craftsman

Abillities
Item Mending:
A craftsman is skilled in both blacksmithing and carpentry meaning that broken items and weapons can be mended if the proper materials are on hand.

Sewing:
Why waste money on a tailor? A craftsman can easilly mend the damage that questing inflicts on clothing. This is however limited to repair work. It takes a true tailor to make new garments.

Locksmithing:
When a lock needs opening, a craftsman has the tools on hand to open it. Even broken locks can be opened.

Item creation:
With the proper materials a craftsman can create entirely new items and weapons. A resourceful player can build all kinds of things. At the outset the array of a craftsman's abillities includes working with wood and leather as well as small scale cold metalwork. After one quest is completed hot forging of metal becomes available, and after two quests basic machines including very simple guns can be built and after three the craftsman can construct complex machines including clockwork devices, guns, and even steam driven machinery among other things.

Invention:
Craftsmen aren't only limited to reproducing existing technology. With time and effort they can eventually invent entirely new machines, excellent for combating evil with technology from the future. Steam driven automatic crossbow? No problem. Retracting whip. Easy. Giant clock work automoton, with enough effort, yes.

Team Synergy:
Craftsmen are used to working with others, and do well as team leaders or as followers. More importantly the capacity for a craftsman to build and invent greatly improves with the assistance of characters of other classes. Even skills that the craftsman himself doesn't understand can be incorporated into his designes, allowing the craftsman and his allies to create things far beyond their individual reach. For instance a warlock may be able to animate a golem, and a craftsman may be able to build an automoton, but combining the two would create an almost living mechanical man. 

Reverse engineering:
Sometimes the most successful inventor isn't the the one who could come up with something brilliant but the one who could faithfully reproduce it. When a craftsman discovers a machine, tool, or weapon, he or she can examine it, and given sufficient time, reproduce it.

Qualities
Dexterity:
The most steady and prescise hands in the world belong to a craftsman, perfect for delicate operations. When used in combination with other classes this can be used to make other skills nearly perfect.

Mechanical Knowledge:
Craftsmen have an understanding of machines the average person of the day can't even grasp. 

Heat Tolerance:
An odd skill aquired by chance. Since craftsmen spend a good deal of time over a blazing forge they develope a tollerance for high heats that would debillitate a normal person.

Toughness:
In general craftsmen are working class individuals, whom tend to not complain about being uncomfortable. They've got more physical strength and endurance from working sunup to sundown, and don't mind long travels, a minor injury, missing a meal, or a night's sleep. They may not be hardened warriors but they can take what life can dish out.

Marksman

Qualities
Eagle eyes:
Marksmen and Archers are known for having extremely keen eyesight allowing them to clearly see objects much further away than most. They also have some tallent for seeing better in low light.

Weapons of choice:
Whips and Revolvers

Appearance:
Ethan is not too short nor to tall being of average height, but possessing a lean muscular build. His hair is short and like ash white in color. It is never combed giving it a wild appearance. His eyes are a light steel gray in color and have a penetrating gaze. His nose is small and sharp.  His face is clean shaven and he looks much younger than his actual age. He prefers to wear clothing of the 1860's with a western style and usually of dark color tones. His trademark and most recognizable piece of clothing he seemingly wears a lot is a dark gray duster coat with small crosses along the sides of its opening instead of buttons. He wears leather gloves that help handle the whip better. His preferred footwear are leather boots.

Flaws:
Marked by God (Major)
Born after a promise his mother did to God, Ethan is a miracle and marked by God. This means that he is a screaming beacon for the forces of evil who have an irrational desire to destroy him. Any being of darkness and evil immediately senses him and knows his exact location from miles away.

Test of Faith (Moderate)
God will at times test Ethan's faith in him. There are times when God simply will not answer Ethan's prayers and does not act in his favor. There are also times were God does not protect Ethan or warn him of danger.

Benefit
God's Blessed Mark (Major)
Born from a promise made, Ethan is marked by God. As such he seems to be a beacon of Holy power. Everything Ethan remains in contact with becomes blessed with great holy power that severely affects evil beings.

God's Favor and Protection (Moderate)
Ethan seems to have a protection from God. Many a times attacks are averted or sensed by Ethan or God warns him before hand. Having God's favor, Ethan is blessed with his prayers being answered such as healing the wounded, consecrating an area or providing sustenance.


Backstory:
Ethan Frost was born to Aaron and Zoe Frost in 1835, Texas, NA. Zoe unable to bear children made a promise to God that if she had a child she would dedicate him to the service of God. After this she became pregnant with Ethan and when she gave birth she made good on her promise. When he was just a toddler she turned him over to the town's Church, while visiting him often. 

The Church Ethan was turn over too was no ordinary Church. It was an active headquarters for dedicated Hunters who trained their members as proficient Slayers to hunt down evil. Ethan was trained as a Slayer since he was very young and displayed a remarkable affinity to it. So much that he was considered a prodigy. When he became 18 he had become a full fledged Slayer and was considered the best trained Slayer the Church had in years.

Ethan returned to his parents home and took up the family trade along his father as a Craftsman while ever vigilant for whenever the Church would call upon him to fight the darkness. No one in his family found out about his real trade as a Hunter. With help from his father Ethan made his weapon of choice: a chain whip.

He became interested in firearms after a local had asked for repairs on one of his guns. The local, whose name was Brian Marsh was grateful for Ethan's excellent work. Since Ethan had displayed interest in firearms, he tutored Ethan on how to use firearms and gifted him a revolver.

When Ethan became 25 he received a letter from the Church. In it his particular services were requested. Ethan left everything to attend the call of his duty. He was debriefed that they were sending him to the province of Wallachia in Romania to the town of Veros. For the situation there needed his particular talents. Ethan took a ship the next day and after a few days of travel he arrived at Veros.

Equipment:

Vehicle Solace
Solace is a wonder of technology. Powered by steam, clockwork and magical runes this large tank-like vehicle is shaped like a cross. It has several alignment wards and even has a magical barrier that protects it from damage. Furthermore the metal used in its construction has been altered by alchemy making it difficult to get damaged or breached by even anti tank weaponry. Even more importantly is that it is quite difficult to enter it without Ethan's biometrics and evil aligned beings cannot enter it outright. Offensively it has a total of eight powerful turrets at each of the vehicles cross sides that fire .50 cal bullets, two missile carriers on the left and right cross sides and a twin linked frontal cannons. Solace is also equipped like a small home including a bed, food storage, kitchen and everything necessary for a Craftsman to engage in his trade.

Retribution
This retractable chain whip extends 25 feet. The hilt is approximately 2 feet long. Resting at the exit point is the whip's spherical weight with three sharp blades extending from it resembling a cross. It is made out of silver. The bottom has a silver spike used for close combat. Alchemy has been used to empower the hilt and chains making them far more durable and harder to break than normal chains. The chain has also been enchanted to possess a blade effect; when sufficient force and speed is applied it is capable of cutting through any target physical or metaphysical. Compounding on this effect the speed and force utilized to achieve this also has a vorpal effect that releases razor sharp winds that can cut through physical and metaphysical targets at a range of an additional 10 feet. The whip can also be used to grapple an enemy, then with force applied, amputate the victims limbs or decapitate them. Because of Ethan's Mark, the whip has powerful holy energies coursing through it, which deals severe aggravated damage against evil beings.

Punishment
Punishment is Ethan's customized revolver. It's usual ammo are silver bullets of a .45 cal hollow points with an explosive core. However Punishment can also make use of enchanted ammunition allowing it to fire magical bullets with a variety of effects. Alchemy has also been used to reinforce it allowing it to be used to block physical attacks. A powerful enchantment grants the gun the ability to never run out of the ammunition being used. Because of Ethan's Mark, all bullets fired have powerful holy energies coursing through them, which deals severe aggravated damage against evil beings.

Absolution Combat Suit
The Absolution is a body fitting armor that combines technology with alchemy and magic. Unlike most armor, the Absolution does not hinder movement while offering superb protection against physical and metaphysical attacks reducing their effectiveness considerably. It also boosts the physical prowess of the wearer to meta human levels and provides an incredible level of endurance that makes it very difficult for the wearer to be harmed. In addition it comes equipped with a barrier that can block physical and metaphysical attacks but after a certain point it breaks. It takes some time for the barrier to regain full strength, during this time the barrier is inactive. The effects of the Absolution are always active and drain its power core.  Because of Ethan's Mark, the suit has powerful holy energies coursing through, which allows it to further protect against evil aligned attacks physical and metaphysical. The Absolution's power core requires recharging after 6 hours of usage.
